He Restoreth My Soul

Psalms 23 – The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want. 2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. 3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. 4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. 5 Thou prepares a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. 6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

The Shepherd knows what pastures are best for his sheep, and they must not question nor doubt, but trustingly follow Him. Perhaps He sees that the best pastures for some of us are to be found in the midst of opposition or of earthly trials. If He leads you there, you may be sure they are green for you, and you will grow and be made strong by feeding there. Perhaps He sees that the best waters for you to walk beside will be raging waves of trouble and sorrow. If this should be the case, He will make them still waters for you, and you must go and lie down beside them, and let them have all their blessed influences upon you.
H. W. SMITH.

Dear Friends – May these words of encouragement bless you this day. May you become keenly aware of God’s love and tender care of you. As a shepherd tends to his flock, so God gives us direction at every turn. At every crossroads in life our Savior is there pointing the way. Often we do not listen. Too many times we think that just can’t be the path we have to walk as it is not what we feel is best for us or even where we wanted to go. Ah, but here lies the sweetest of truths. Just as the above quote by H. W. Smith says, the places God chooses for us may not be our choice, but God is able to still those raging waters, calm His children in the midst of trials and tribulations, and alas, there are “blessed influences” we would certainly miss by going our own way.

In reading the Shepherd’s Psalm I am comforted by the deep and abiding care that is expounded upon. In reading it at first glance it seems perhaps the norm in life until one takes the time to meditate on each verse, to delve more deeply into the rich truths of the Psalm. In the first verse, if the Lord is our shepherd we will not want, one could stop right there and be filled with so much of Christ our world would most certainly change. For the job of a shepherd is to lead His sheep where they may drink of the water of life, have adequate food, protection from harm, etc. He speaks to them and soon they recognize his voice and they follow him because they trust him.

Oh that we had that kind of childlike trust in our Lord. Green pastures, still waters, yes, but His green pastures, His still waters. There’s where the schism comes in at times. But in staying with Him, trusting at all costs, all your paths will be paths of righteousness, how blessed! And we think perhaps we don’t want to go where He leads at times?

Verse 4 speaks of walking through the valley of the shadow of death fearing no evil. One thing that jumps out of that passage of scripture is the word shadow. I feel it is a time in life where we may feel threatened in some way, certainly fearful, but it is only a shadow, not real, for God is standing so close to us the Light of His love will drive the shadow away. Another of the major keywords in that verse is THROUGH of course. One must keep going, keep trusting, keep putting one foot in front of the other until this season of the valley experience has passed. We know that a valley is a low place, usually with mountains on either side. One could be in the lowest of places in life, but see in the distance where they could be, would like to be, perhaps are trying to be. Keep going forward, beloved. Let God lead you in His way and be truly changed, uplifted, awakened to all the beauty that is the life God has prepared for you.

As you remain under the care and leading of the Great Shepherd you will soon learn that trusting Him and letting  Him lead becomes easier and easier. His rod and His staff are more than comforting, for with one He corrects us and with the other He leads us. And by staying on His chosen paths where do we end up? Alas, He prepares a table full of His bounty just for us and in the presence of our enemies, in the presence of all those that said we’d never make it. Yes here we are because we chose to trust Him, our head is anointed with oil, that’s feeling as if we could accomplish anything and have His power to do so. Our cup is running over, yes we have more than heart could wish. And ultimately, goodness and mercy are right behind us 24-7. Think of God’s goodness and mercy following you wherever you go, in all that you do, every circumstance. Goodness and mercy, goodness and mercy. You trusted God and now because of your faithfulness you have received a rich reward. What could not be accomplished in our lives if we knew of a truth that goodness and mercy were forever with us for there is no limit to God’s goodness, no end to His mercy?

Receive it and be blessed today, my friends. Stay with the Lord no matter what. If your path is not what you would have chosen and the Lord has seen fit to lead you there, think on those “blessed influences”. For all the paths of the Lord are mercy and truth  unto those that have made Him the Lord of their life (Psalms 25:10).

Beloved if you don’t know this One called Jesus, God’s Son, take a moment and ask Him to come into your heart and be the Lord of your life. Ask Him to forgive you of your sins and cleanse you from all unrighteousness, then by faith believe He has done so. Commit your life, your way, your dreams and desires to Him and begin to follow Him wherever He may lead you. You will soon realize you are walking on His paths of righteousness for His name sake.  For scripture says in Psalms 25:8 good and upright is the Lord and He wants to teach you in His way. If you are overwhelmed in life right now, if your life is broken and in disarray, if you feel lost and alone,  let God show you a true and better way, let God show you His way. Remember the “blessed influences”, the cup that runs over, the bountiful table prepared especially for you in the presence of your enemies, and the great goodness and mercy that will be ever with you.

The Lord bless thee, and keep thee: 25 The Lord make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: 26 The Lord lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace…Num 6:24-26

Words Of Inspiration | The Songs Of The Morning Stars

The Darkness Before Dawn

Psalm 18:28 – Lord, you have brought light to my life; my God, you light up my darkness.

Dear Friends – Step out into the early morning hours and look up at the stars. They seem to be shining brighter in the darkness before dawn. It is as if each one is dancing across the cosmos to its own rhythm. Each star is melodiously hanging there in all its glory, singing songs of their creator, songs in the night that  only God can orchestrate. So it is with our lives and circumstances. When the darkness seems overwhelming and the black closeness would seem as if we are smothering in pain, brokenness, confusion and turmoil, listen with your heart to the songs of the morning stars. For it is in this quiet oneness with yourself, your Creator, and beneath the starry deep displayed overhead that God speaks to us. Let these words of hope, these words of encouragement touch the pain and brokenness in your life and awaken in you the knowledge that with God truly all things are possible.

God is ever speaking to us of Love. His arm is outstretched to us in want of a loving embrace if we will allow it. His love is there for us as we call on Him in desperation for deliverance, for relief from oppression, and direction when we seem to have lost our way. His Spirit speaks softly to the brokenness. His healing balm flows over the schism in our bodies, the confusion in our minds, reaching the very core of mankind, inspiring one to arise and soar with Him. His will is not that we suffer and die in a tormented state, but rather that we turn and let ourselves be healed.

Turn today, beloved, and let the songs of the morning stars ring loudly in your spirit. Let the darkness before the dawn become a beacon of hope as you allow His love to lighten your life, His strength to lighten your load, and His way become your way. So much time is wasted in worry and concern. So much time we could be spending with God, sharing our thoughts, our longings, our innermost pain, and yet we avoid this closeness as if our Savior is not concerned about the smallest of issues in our lives.

Truly if one could only grasp this agape love and it’s most basic meaning so many lives could be transformed from darkness into light. For He loved us when we were not lovable. He sent His Son Jesus into the world to save us while we were yet sinners. We have no words for our defense. There are no works we can do or merits we can earn to open the door to so great a love. All we need do is ask Jesus to forgive us our sins, to come into our hearts and be the Lord of our lives. Lay it all on His altar of sacrifice. Lay down your heavy burdens for scripture says His yoke is easy and His burden is light. Make that switch today. Why continue to carry a load that is much too heavy to bear?

In one of my poems I used the phrase “I sense my smallness standing neath a starry moonlit sky”. It is humbling, yet exhilarating, to just take a moment to look up at the Cosmos, all its vastness, all its beauty, and know that God that created this Universe created each one of us. The God that hung every star, called them all by name, calls each one of us by name as well. He calls us precious, beautiful, His beloved, His bride. He gives us counsel, comfort, love, encouragement, inspiration, hope in failing times, motivation in times of lackluster existence. He gives us strength in our times of weakness, the oil of joy for the spirit of mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness. He stands by us when others walk away. He stands with us in times of loneliness. We come before Him as walking wounded and He stands ready to help and to heal. He has sent His Holy Spirit to come alongside, to aid us in our time of need.

Yes, beloved, He never leaves us or forsakes us. It is not by our righteousness or by any works that we have done but through faith in Him we have become the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. Take your eyes off the overwhelming problems and brokenness in your life today and place them on Jesus. Focus on His love and His care of His world and we as His dear children. We will not always have the answers to our petitions as we had hoped. Our questions may still be staring us in the face. But in the gift of another day, gazing up at the twinkling stars, let us be reminded that our God is still in control of our lives. He is still very much aware of the pain and lostness. Yet for just a moment let your mind be at rest, your troubled spirit find solace in the starry space, your loneliness and sorrow be replaced by the overwhelming Love hanging in the heavens and the absolute truth that the God that created such a beautiful existence for the whole of man is still working miracles and opening doors to greater destinies than our finite minds can grasp. Our God, through faith in His Son Jesus, waits to pour this Love into each heart that will open unto Him and allow Him to begin a work of grace that will change us from the inside out.

The answers will come in His time and not ours. We may not receive what we had hoped for, all wrapped up and tidy, hand delivered before we get up off our knees, but we will receive the greatest love that man has ever known. We will receive grace to help in time of need, a renewed strength for our journey. Meditate on His unconditional love. Meditate on His grace and His unending mercy. Meditate on His unfailing forgiveness. Listen to the songs of the morning stars and be reminded that nothing is too difficult for our God. No path is so dark that He cannot send out His light and show us His way. No problem is beyond Him, no need He won’t supply. Believe it today, dear friends. Look up for your redemption draws nigh.

In His Love,

Lynda Signature

Words Of Inspiration | When Heaven Seems Silent

The Voice Of God

Psalms 40:12b, 13 – Mine iniquities have taken hold upon me, so that I am not able to look up; therefore my heart faileth me. Be pleased, O Lord, to deliver me: O Lord, make haste to help me.

O Thou, to whose all-searching sight
The darkness shineth as the light!
Search, prove my heart; it pants for Thee;
Oh, burst these bonds, and set it free!
G. TERSTEEGEN

Yes, this sin which has sent me weary-hearted to bed and desperate in heart to morning work, that has made my plans miscarry until I am a coward, that cuts me off from prayer, that robs the sky of blueness and the earth of springtime, and the air of freshness, and human faces of friendliness,–this blasting sin which perhaps has made my bed in hell for me so long,–this can be conquered. I do not say annihilated, but, better than that, conquered, captured and transfigured into a friend: so that I at last shall say, “My temptation has become my strength! for to the very fight with it I owe my force.”
W. C. GANNETT.

Dear Friends – May these words of encouragement bless you deeply today and motivate you to take a second look at your circumstances, a reevaluation if you will of the hurts and pain, the brokenness and bitterness, and yes, even the  agonizing anger that has taken deep root within your soul to the depths that you are barely able to lift your head. And as you take a second look may you, by God’s grace, come to the revelation that your life is not over. Your best days are yet to come. The innermost desires of your heart are still God’s desires for you and He is still willing and able to bring about great things in your life if you are trusting Him.

So often in life we allow things to overwhelm us when we’ve truly prayed and asked God for guidance. People disappoint us and hurt us. People betray us. Friends walk away. Disasters happen at inopportune times and catch us unawares. The enemy likes nothing better than to see us struggling in pain and disillusionment. He is at work in our discouragement, slowly isolating  us because when we are discouraged and depressed the first thing we do is want to be alone in our misery. Once we’re isolated there is a constant barrage of destructive thoughts. We begin to feel that our situation is somehow an exception to all the rules. We are certain that our pain is different than what others suffer, deeper, more devastating, more traumatic, and in allowing these thoughts to continue, before you know it the enemy has moved in and set up a stronghold.

Beloved, scripture says there is nothing new under the sun. That means every human experience is not new even if we’ve determined in our hearts that surely no one has been hurt like this, surely no one has suffered so many blows that they are no longer able to function. The worst thing we can do in desperate times is convince ourselves that our situation is too far gone for God to give assistance, our situation is too heavy for God to carry us through, and worst of all, God doesn’t seem to even notice our situation anymore and Heaven seems silent.

When we have suffered so much for so long it begins to look hopeless to us. When the darkness is unrelenting though we pray fervently to the best of our ability, we stand on the brink of giving up. But the good news is this is when God is doing His greatest work in us. For you see, the seeming silence of Heaven, when it seems God is not talking to us, is actually just the opposite. God is preparing us for great things. We have others around us watching us, watching what we will do, how we will react, and just when is our God going to show up. Well it may not seem like it but God is always on time. Just when we think we’ve surely lost our minds  and everything else in our life, He shows up. God knew you could handle the stress, the anxiety, the seeming overload because He gave you what it takes beforehand. He knew you could do it but did you? He never left your side. He has every confidence in us but do we have the same confidence in Him?

In Joel Osteen’s book “Every Day A Friday” he says, “When He (God) is silent, don’t assume He has left you. He is right there with you during the test….God is not mad at you when He is silent. He has not forsaken you. His silence is a sign that He has great confidence in you. He knows you have what it takes…”.  Scripture says He never gives us more than we can handle without making a way of escape. Knowing this, we should be rejoicing even in the tough times because what a privilege to discover the God that created the Universe has such confidence in us. So may we never be tempted to throw away our confidence as it is truly one of God’s priceless treasures and His word says it has great recompense of reward.

If you want the deeper things of God it takes a greater faith. You must learn to trust Him with your life and all that it encompasses. If your wounds are always open and bleeding then the pain is easily triggered by sometimes unexpected events, but usually a more familiar happening, a song, seeing a particular person, a certain locale. You may go back and relive the painful experience. You may revisit the devastating circumstances over and over in your mind. Yes, you may even feel justified in doing so because in your reality, it was an exceptional pain, an exceptional injustice. But beloved, in doing so we only hurt ourselves. God wants us to let it go and let Him heal us. We can’t be healed if we constantly look back, constantly indulge ourselves in these excuses that no one understands us or how bad our pain really is. God understands us, God understands how deep the pain is and how devastating to our lives the wound has become, but He not only offers healing if we trust Him, His word says what the enemy means for evil God will use for good, our good, and the good of those around us.

There will always be opposition to our faith. We have to understand that to go higher with God usually means more opposition, greater obstacles. But God is the one that will fight for us. When we come to the end of ourselves and can’t seem to find a way to keep going then God will carry us. He doesn’t want us to spend our lives running around putting out fires. He doesn’t want us to waste our days avoiding every trigger of that familiar failure, pain, etc., running from life looking for some safe haven with which to rest. No, He will fight our battles for us while we continue to trust Him and grow and begin to experience all the life He’s providing, exceeding, abundantly above all we could have ever asked or thought. As Tullian Tchividjian so profoundly states it, “The gospel is not a command to hang onto Jesus. Rather, it’s a promise that no matter how weak your faith may be in seasons of spiritual depression, God is always holding on to you”.

If you’re plagued with torment from the past, past hurts, past failures, commit it to Him. Commit it to Him and leave it alone. God is able to deal with it. Scripture says He will vindicate us. Scripture says He prepares a table before us in the presence of our enemies. By trusting Him explicitly, even if you just start with baby steps, soon you will be sitting at that table dining on God’s bounty while your enemies look on. What a testimony! And by baby steps I mean perhaps you are deeply troubled, so troubled that you can’t even lift your head or speak, but give God a day, give Him a week, totally let it go and trust Him for a short amount of time. Then as  you see He is faithful in the short-run, trust Him for the long haul. He is the same yesterday, today and forever. What He’s done for others He will do for you. With man these things seem impossible, but not with God, for with God all things are possible.

Don’t let the enemy isolate you and convince  you you can’t be fixed, your problems are too complex, too far reaching. No shut the door on him and  his wiles for scripture says he comes to steal, kill and destroy. As believers we are commanded to take captive every thought that sets itself up against God. Yes, we may feel bad about life, but we’re not failures utterly. We may have been down for a season, but don’t count us out. The pain may have been devastating but give it to God. Allow Him to take whatever brokenness and/or bitterness that is keeping you from living life to the fullest and bring about His good in your life. For when you allow Him free reign in your life you often find the scope of His Love and healing is far greater than you ever imagined. Not only do you find peace, joy, healing, strength for the journey that you’re on, but His Love touches others in your life, and before long you’ve got a powerful testimony rather than a pitiful mess.

If you are so distraught that the only prayer you can utter is, “I commit this to You”, that is good enough for God. Do it every time you feel like you can’t make it. God is a God of justice and He will not allow us to be used and abused indefinitely when we are trusting Him for our care. God will show up when we least expect it and show Himself strong on our behalf. Those who stand against us or those who may not necessarily stand against us but have hurt us deeply will see God show up and bless us. Yes, dear ones, you will set at His table and dine in their very presence. Man may have counted you out, but God says you’re just getting started.

So if Heaven seems silent to you, my friends, just know of a certainty that you are much farther along than you realize. Know assuredly that God has been at work in your life in a powerful way. For in the silence you’ve been searching, searching the scriptures, praying for wisdom, direction, deliverance. Take heart, for God has heard your prayers and the pit you have been in for so long will soon be forgotten when His glory is revealed to you, in you, on you, through you, and all to the glory of God. Scripture says “by grace ye are saved, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God”, and what a gift it is. We don’t earn it, we can’t buy it, we just reach out and by faith we believe it, and we receive it. This great grace is touching your life today because you have chosen to trust Him, and the glory is about to be revealed. Don’t give up and don’t give in, only believe. Let the very thing that broke you, the very circumstance that brought you into the pit you’ve been in for so long, be the catapult in your life to be all that God created you to be. Let the very thing that makes you feel the weakest, hurts unbearably, and causes you the greatest fear, be the thing  that with God’s help you capture and conquer, so that as W. C. Gannett said,  “My temptation has become my strength! for to the very fight with it I owe my force.”

In His Love,

Come Precious Lord

Ezekiel 34: 15 & 16 & 26 – I will feed my flock, and I will cause them to lie down, saith the Lord God. 16 I will seek that which was lost, and bring again that which was driven away, and will bind up that which was broken, and will strengthen that which was sick: 26 And I will make them and the places round about my hill a blessing; and I will cause the shower to come down in his season; there shall be showers of blessing.

You Have

You have a way to reach us with love,

a soft whisper’s sigh sent from heaven above.

You have a way to pierce deep in our hearts,

to root out, to clean out the darkest of parts.

You have a sweet balm, soothing oil for the wounds,

that cut through our lives, as in shadows we loom.

We’re calling to You in this darkest of nights.

Come heal our lives and make everything right.

Come and restore us with mercy and grace.

Teach us to love as we stand face to face.

For the wedge that’s between us, a most painful ill,

keeps driving a distance, and desperate we feel.

Come Precious Lord, for we’re looking to You.

Come to our aid, Lord, come do what You do.

Be our right arm Lord, bring victory sweet,

for this battle is Yours and there’ll be no defeat.

With all that we are or ever could be,

we call on You, trust in You,  hear as we speak.

So come Precious Lord, drive the darkness away.

Come and rebuild what we’ve so thrown away.

Show us Your strength as ours has long failed,

for You’re all we need on this path of travail.

Shine Your Light brightly as darkness surrounds.

Lead us and guide us to Your Holy Ground.

Come break the silence we daily endure.

Fill our heart with Your Words, with a shout clear and pure.

For only Your Words, understood and received,

will see us rise up and so joyously believe.

By the Blood of the Lamb we shall overcome all.

By the words that we speak, in Your hands we stand tall.

In His Love,

Inspiration Words Of Encouragement | The Bond Of Brothers

Proverbs 18:24 – A man that hath friends must show himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.

Scripture says there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother. This friend is Jesus. When one considers the closeness of brothers, brothers biologically, brothers in combat, brothers in tragedy, a bond is realized that lasts for a lifetime. This is the bond that Jesus wants to have with each of us. He gave His life to do away with the separation between man and God, to close the chasm, if you will.

He brought us the dispensation of grace, the new covenant, and man never has to feel separated from God anymore. For His grace covers all our sin, past, present and future, and His love is eternal and unconditional. We only have to believe Him and receive Him into our hearts today and as we walk with him and fellowship with Him, faith leads us to our divine purpose and ultimately our heavenly home.

Dear friends-If you don’t know Jesus, I invite  you to take a moment right now and ask him into your heart. Let Him be the Lord of your life, give him first place in everything. You’ll begin a journey to last a lifetime that is full of life and love.

In His Love,

Lynda Signature

Colors Of Friendship

THANKS FOR MAKING US FRIENDS

Among all the colors that stretch from sea to sea,

I find my friend sitting somewhere between blue and green.

Her heart is full of passion of the likes you’ve never seen.

Her laughter is contagious and her smile a mystery.

She doesn’t understand how beautiful her touch.

I wonder if she knows she is loved so much.

She doesn’t really see all the colors she paints for me,

but that just makes her more precious… you see.

On the canvas of her life she splashes her many shades,

like a hug around your shoulders or a whisper of grace.

What a wonderful heart, I’ll hold to the end.

What a talented artist… my friend.

Thank you for making us friends Lynda- By Jon Freeman

Dear Friends-I want to give credit to Jon Freeman, a facebook friend, who sent me this beautiful poem and it is with his permission that I now share it with you. To me it is a beautiful allegory of how God sees us, all bright and beautiful, full of God-given talents. The many colors of His love we passionately share with others.

We strive daily to be the best we can, usually finding fault with ourselves, feeling as if perhaps we failed in some way. But this poem relates to me, just as if the Lord were sitting in my presence speaking one on one to me, that we have no idea the good we bring to others lives when we are submitted to Christ. We usually never know unless someone like Jon comes along to open our eyes to see the beauty that is Christ in us.

To me, this is true and Godly friendship. We never know when something we say is going to encourage someone in their daily lives to hang on. We seldom have advance warning in emergent situations as to what we shall say or what we shall do. But friend to friend this is not a struggle, not even a consideration. For friends that are true friends, aren’t spending a lot of time worrying if they might offend us or drop the ball in some way when we feel they’re needed most. True friends are just that. They are free to be themselves and we love them for it. They speak the truth to us and we applaud them. They show us the error of our ways without crushing our spirit, and they stand with us when the bottom drops out of our lives, or just sit and cry with us, never condemning, never judging, just faithfully there and willingly loving till the storm passes over.

This type of friendship is rare today but a treasure when you find it. Iyanla Vanzant in her book “Until Today”, and I paraphrase, speaks of the unconscious efforts we make to avoid compliments from people in an effort to remain humble. But in essence we are negating all the beautiful things God is trying to tell us about ourselves and our lives. We must not run from this very good and pleasant gift but accept it graciously. It is one of God’s ways of speaking His love to us, why would we not just open our arms wide and ask Him to fill them up and send the more. There’s an infinite supply from His throne of grace, and His arm is never shortened that He can’t help us.

In His Love,

Lynda Signature

I have come in answer to your prayer…but for 21 days the spirit prince of the kingdom of Persia blocked my way.

EVEN THE ANGELS ARE HINDERED AND MUST WAIT AT TIMES.

Dear Friends – This scripture is such a beautiful reminder that when God seems to be delayed in coming to us in our time of need, or when we have done all we know to do and still no response, the seeming silence in the heavens could be due to the angels being hindered, held up in some way in bringing God’s answer to our hearts. We humble ourselves and pray for wisdom and understanding, but it’s easy to think we might have come to God in our time of great need and somehow asked amiss anyway. It’s easy to blame ourselves for a lack of patience perhaps, or maybe just a selfish request, when we gaze into the heavens and they seem cold and dark, enveloped in a strange silence our hearts can not even receive at first. At this point, one can bolt and run, or one can choose to stay with God knowing they’re in the best of hands, the safest place they could ever be, and realize that it is a journey to give God all the glory and share the testimony we receive in the end with a lost and hurting world.

Beloved, I have devoted myself to trusting God through it all. I have learned that delay is not always denial, and should it be denial it is always wonderfully good for us. It seems awkward now to say that a firm “no” from my God ends with praises on my lips thanking Him and giving Him the glory for His protection over me, His involvement in every aspect of my life. For the denials have taught me the difference between needs and wants. The denials have taught me that even the most sincere prayers can be selfish or looking for a quick fix out of a painful situation while looking at a failure head on. Ultimately in the silence, and through a dogged determination to seek God and His way no matter how much it hurt, I grew to love Him and depend on Him even more. I have learned to be patient in the delays knowing His way will always serve me best. And His way will also serve others best. For our dear Savior looks at our whole picture, those whose lives we have major influence over, and those whose lives we may not have even touched yet but soon will. He considers things I can’t even fathom, to the good will of all.

Yes, I have chosen to trust when it would be easier to skip the whole thing, just up and run the other way to escape the pressure and pain. But, I can’t find words to tell you how sweet it is to stay in the refiner’s fire until all the old dross, all the garbage and excess baggage we carry around with us, is burned away. We come out without even the smell of smoke, and we come out full of zest for life, full of passion to serve Him, and a love and compassion for the hurts and needs of others we might have otherwise never realized.

So fret not if the heavens seem silent to you at times. Don’t fall into worry and doubt if you’re waiting on God and He hasn’t showed up yet. Let the above scripture be an encouragement to you that your angels could be held up in the heavens as they are bringing God’s answer to you. And remember that God never leaves us or forsakes us. He is always only a prayer away. He hears the cries of our hearts but if we want to be a tree of life planted by those living waters we must submit our will and our way to His will and His way. Nothing else will keep us planted in Jesus but a blind faith and total trust in good times or bad.

This total commitment then becomes your resting place in the Lord. Total commitment takes the pressure off. We don’t have to be so concerned about every decision we make, every stumbling block or hurdle we may otherwise struggle with. Give your life to Christ this day and begin a rest for your souls. The joy of the Lord will be your strength and His joy is full and lasting. His Word says, “whosoever will, may come”. Such great love, full of mercy and grace, is  only found in Him. His yoke is easy and His burden is light. May He bless you with His presence this day as you begin to seek Him with all of your heart. And may I tell you that if you have been praying earnestly about a matter, if you have been struggling under a load of care seeking God’s answer, the answers will come, and when they do your circumstances will catch up with your faith. The dark night of the soul you’ve been going through was just a season and don’t let anyone talk you out of your blessing. God will be faithful to you.

In His Love,

Lynda Signature

Words of Encouragement | Heaven’s Reunion Poem

God’s Light Of Life

Isaiah 26:19 – Yet we have this assurance: Those who belong to God will live; their bodies will rise again! Those who sleep in the earth will rise up and sing for joy! For God’s light of life will fall like dew….

Heaven’s Reunion

When loved ones die there’s so much pain.

Tears cloud the eyes and fall like rain.

You rise each day to greet the sun…

But only sorrow and missing one

You’ve held so close and loved so pure,

And wonder how long you’ll endure.

Your heart’s aware they’re safe with God

As through this life alone you trod.

But memories now are bitter sweet –

You cling to them, for comfort seek.

But tarry not in suffering long.

You’ll meet again with heaven’s throng.

Tenderly you’ll touch the heart

Of one so soon you’ve had to part.

And warm embraces will replace

The loneliness you’ve had to face.

Those tears of joy will freely flow

And once again your heart will know

The love complete you’ve so longed for.

No pain of separation anymore.

Just love and joy for endless days,

With angel choirs in endless praise.

Dear Friends – May these words of encouragement bless your heart today. May these words of inspiration relate to you that you are not alone in your time of sorrow. Accept the love and fellowship of family, friends, and loved ones. And may the God of all comfort comfort your heart this day and give you peace.

In His Love,

Lynda Signature

Words Of Inspiration | Closeness With God

Closing The Gap

2 Peter 3:9 – The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness: but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.

Dear Friends – Do you desire a closer walk with God? Do you desire a more intimate relationship with Jesus? May these words of inspiration lift your spirits today, and these words of encouragement comfort your soul as you realize that that is God’s desire for us as well. He longs to have fellowship with us, longs to hear us call on Him that He might show us His goodness. His desire is to have fellowship with man and show us the depths of His loving kindness and tender mercies. His word says to call on Him in the day of trouble and He will hear us (Psalms 50:15); acquaint now ourselves with Him and be at peace, thereby good shall come to us (Job 22:21); and ultimately, I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from my enemies (Psalms 18:3). If your enemies outnumber you and you have not the strength to continue in battle, call upon the Lord in prayer and praise,  in faith and trust allow Him to save you, my friends.

If our relationship with God seems strained at the least, and distant at best, it is most often we who have moved from the position of closeness with God. When we are overcome with the cares of this world, when we become weary of our own efforts, disgusted with the failures, and troubled with fear, it is easy to forget how much God really loves us. Once our focus becomes clouded with much worldly concern and busyness we often lose sight of the things in life that really matter. His word says where sin abounds, grace does much more abound (Romans 5:20). When we are weak in the midst of human frailties and errors in judgement, if we are trusting Him His word says then are we strong because it is His grace that carries us through and the blood of Jesus that cleanses us from all wrong, all wrong feelings, wrong emotions, wrong actions, wrong anything. Every excuse we can make to distance ourselves from God is covered by His grace. And when we awake one day and feel a distance for no apparent reason, still He has not left us or forsaken us in any way. If you feel you have been in a vise grip for an extended period of time, God is probably up to something in your life. He is perhaps preparing you for greater things in life, richer blessings, and above all, a closer walk with Him if you will trust Him.

But it takes a disciplined heart and mind to think on things above and not on things beneath, to think on the things of God and not on the things of this world. God’s word says to seek first the kingdom of God and all these things, these things we have need of in our activities of daily living, will be added to us.

Jesus told His disciples in John 15:15 – Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends: for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you. What love is this to be called friends of God? And He is a friend that sticks closer than a brother (Proverbs 18:24).  He is a friend that laid down His life for us. He is a friend that will save us from our enemies. So be encouraged my friends. Let these words of inspiration be a reminder to us that if we acquaint ourselves with God we can be at peace. Once peace with God is established in our hearts, then knowing we are the righteousness of God through faith in Christ Jesus will follow. And thus we can most assuredly feel close to God knowing that by His mercy He saved us, not by works of righteousness on our part, but simply by faith – we need only believe my friends. Closeness is only a prayer away!

In His Love,

Words Of Inspiration | Even The Wind And Sea Obey Him

1

Peace Be Still

Mark 4:39 – And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.

My Dearest Friends – May these words of encouragement speak to your heart today and reveal God’s unconditional love to you. May these words of inspiration open your eyes to the greatness that is our God. May you be lifted up in whatever area of  life you may be having a struggle by feeling the presence of Jesus in the very midst of the storm with you, and hearing His words echo ,”Peace, be still”.

I so love this passage of scripture in its entirety. Jesus had entered a ship with His disciples at evening time and they were going to the other side of that sea into the country of the Gadarenes, and other smaller ships accompanied them. Jesus, having had a long day of ministering and teaching the people, entered the ship and had fallen asleep on a pillow in the hinder part of the ship. Now the hinder part of the ship is the part of the ship that contains the rudder, an aspect of the steering mechanism.  I mention this to reiterate that Jesus was in control of the ship as soon as He was on board even though He was sleeping. And yet when a storm comes up suddenly, the disciples had to run and awaken Jesus to ask Him if He cared that they were all about to perish. Isn’t that just like our human nature? Don’t we respond to sudden storms in our lives just like the disciples did? After all, when the journey began, Jesus had said to them, “Let us pass over unto the other side” (Mark 4:35b).

So where in the events of storms in our lives do we forget Jesus’ words to us that He will be with us from one side to the other, in any and every circumstance? The first thing that will trip us up and cause us to lose focus is fear. Once fear has gotten a foothold, we begin to lose faith that Jesus can and will take care of us. And yes, I have even asked Him personally, “Master, carest thou not that we perish?” (Mark 5:38), at those times when I begin to focus on the raging of the storm and not on the anchor of my soul.

But, dear ones, He is faithful when we’re not. Just as He arose and rebuked the winds and waves and there was a great calm, so He comes to us in the most fearful, trying times with His, “Peace, be still”. We are at these times humbled by His presence, thankful for His faithfulness when ours has failed, and strengthened to continue our spiritual journey, hand in hand with Jesus. Once you look into the beautiful face of our Savior, fear is no longer an issue. You might have felt your life was pretty much over, perhaps you felt that God had somehow forgotten you, and for some reason He wasn’t going to show up this time. I’m sure somewhere in your spiritual experience you’ve heard the expression – He’s never there when you need Him, but He’s always on time. Well that’s our God and our humanness all wrapped  up in one little catch phrase – God shows up in His time and gets the glory, and we get the help.

So know today He’s a much bigger God than we can even wrap our little minds around. But if you will wrap your heart around His, He’ll do things in your life you never dreamed possible.  His love covers everything we may come up against or that may come against us in our human experience. He will be an anchor for your soul, and if you invite Him into your heart, you will hear His whisper, “Peace, be still”, in the midst of your every storm.

The grace of our Lord be with you all,

Lynda Signature

Words Of Inspiration | The Joy Of The Lord

Romans 8:13 – Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.

Dearest Friends – Today’s words of inspiration and words of encouragement are all about joy. How many of us are actually experiencing this “joy of the Lord” in today’s society? But never has there been a  better time in recent history when real joy, the joy that comes only from knowing God, needs to be put on display. It is a small word, three letters, and yet it’s implication in our lives, and especially our love walk, is huge. For it is impossible to have joy without first knowing in our hearts the true God and Jesus’ sacrifice for us on the cross.

There are things in life that bring a passing joy, things of this world, material goods, etc., but this joy is fleeting. When the new wears off the joy is usually gone as well and we are searching for a new and better experience. But true joy, the joy that comes from being yielded to the Lord, submissive and trusting, imparts a strength to us that will carry us through, when in the natural we may be tempted to collapse and give up. Scriptures says count it all joy when you fall into divers temptations, when numerous things come against you, or when failure seems your lot for the moment. For this trial of your faith is working patience in your life, and once patience has her perfect work you find yourself perfect and entire, wanting nothing (James 1:2-4).  It’s hard to grasp this concept until we realize that no chastening (Godly correction) for the moment seems a reason for joy but afterwards it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness (Hebrews 12:11). And is not this peaceable fruit of righteousness a most desired prize, a favored state of being.

Scripture says the joy of the Lord is our strength (Nehemiah 8:10). Meditate for a moment on that thought. Experientially I have found that just knowing God is for me, knowing He is fighting battles for me, knowing He is standing beside me at all times, absolutely resting in Him and His provision for me is cause for joy. It renews my energy, which in the natural may be running low. I may not jump up and go run a marathon but I can continue on my spiritual journey with confidence and Godly refreshing knowing I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me (Philippians 4:13).

There are seasons in our lives when mourning is appropriate and grief must be expressed such as the passing of our loved ones. There are times in our lives when sorrow and pain seem the only path when we find ourselves rejected or abused. But these are seasons only and with God’s help and the comfort of the Holy Spirit we must not remain in this state constantly, or for a very prolonged period of time, but allow God to carry us through to a brighter day.

We are a society of making excuses and passing the buck rather than taking responsibility for the condition of our lives. But I find every excuse falls away when one searches the Word of God, for in His Word we find grace to help in time of need. Scripture says the Lord will give us the oil of joy for mourning (Isaiah 61:3); we shall go out with joy and be led forth with peace (Isaiah 55:12);  they that sow in tears shall reap in joy (Psalms 126:5); A man hath joy by the answer of his mouth: and a word spoken in due season, how good is it (Proverbs 15:23)! Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation. The Lord God is my strength, and he will make my feet like hinds’ feet, and he will make me to walk upon my high places (Habakkuk 3:18-19).

So be encouraged today! Let the joy of the Lord be your strength. Anchor your soul in His care. Rest in His love. Wait patiently for Him and He will give you the desires of your heart.

The grace of our Lord be with you all.

In His Love And God Bless Each Of You!

Words Of Inspiration | What Wondrous Love

1

Open Thou Mine Eyes To Behold

Psalms 119:27 – Make me to understand the way of thy precepts: so shall I talk of thy wondrous works.

Dear Friends – These words of inspiration and words of encouragement are written today to proclaim  it is an amazing  time to be alive in the Lord. It is a glorious moment in the history of mankind. Look around you and take in God’s Wondrous Love to His people. There are so many distractions that draw us away from the rest our God calls us to, and yet His arms remain outstretched to us. His Spirit still speaks to our hearts and enriches our lives with the greatest and purest form of love. We have only to look around  us to see the many opportunities to share love with a hurting world. And what a Wondrous Love we have been given without measure.

There are three types of love given to us by God.  These include eros – physical love, philios – brotherly love, and above all there is agape – unconditional self-less love. God’s love for us is agape but God IS love and all love is of God.  To share God’s love is to share yourself, and to share yourself is to invest in another’s life, another’s turmoil, another’s pain.  To invest in another’s life is to become vulnerable, yet this should not deter our ministry of love and exhortation, for in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us (Romans 8:37). Yes we weep with them that do weep, but we also rejoice with them that rejoice. For you see,  to share God’s love is also richly rewarding in that we become a partaker of another’s joy, another’s miracle, and receive love and strength in giving of ourselves, allowing our God to work through us in meeting the needs of others.

God’s love is such a powerful force it cannot be contained in our self-made boxes. God’s love is such a river of life we cannot hold back the flow of it in any fashion. God’ s love is such a contagious, magnetic love that once we are acquainted with Him we can not help but to magnify Him in every area of our lives. Such beauty it creates in every aspect of our being, a transformation of the heart of man for which there is nothing to compare. And God is not willing that any should perish but that ALL would receive this love and eternal life through His Son Jesus (2 Peter 3:9).

Scripture says in Romans 8:38-39- For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, 39-Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Read and reread that scripture and let it be written on the tablets of your heart, commit it to memory. The scripture is an itemized list but the bottom line is that NOTHING and NO THING can come between us and the love God has for us.  If you ever have feelings that God does not love you, or that God has somehow forgotten you, do not receive that false notion, for God’s word proclaims He will never leave us or forsake us (Hebrews 13:5).

To always be conscious of this great love, the gift it is to us, and the unending mercy and glorious grace by which Jesus delivered it to us, dear ones, should encourage us to rise up and receive His love today. You are most special to God. You have a special place in this world. You are absolutely unique in your gifts and talents. You are absolutely unique in your circumstances, perhaps your needs or desires. Beloved, don’t throw away your confidence which has great recompense of reward (Hebrews 10:35).

God wants to use you and bless you in ways you would have never expected. He not only wants to show you this Wondrous Love and give you a personal experience with Him, He also wants you to let His river of life begin to flow through you, for only in letting it flow can you be an example of true love and it’s transforming power. Let His Spirit’s anointing in your life make you a blessing to others. Let your uniqueness and all that is “you” become a beacon of hope to those around you. There are people in your life and circumstances that only you can reach. Believe it, receive it and share this Wondrous Love in ways that only you can. If you live love by example you shall reap a bountiful reward.

The grace of our Lord be with you all.

In His Love And God Bless Each Of You!

Words Of Inspiration | On Hopelessness and Despair

The Desert Shall Rejoice and Blossom

Isaiah 35:1-2a – The wilderness and the solitary place shall be glad for them; and the desert shall rejoice, and blossom as the rose. It shall blossom abundantly, and rejoice even with joy and singing…

Dearest Friends – These words of inspiration are to bless you today with a renewed hope in Christ. The words of encouragement are to motivate you to reach out to the loving and secure arms of God and allow His love and great grace to minister to you and renew your strength this day. If  you are in a desert place in life rejoice, for with God that desert place shall blossom as the rose. If you are in despair, turn your heart toward heaven and call on God. In Isaiah 33:2b God’s word proclaims He will be our arm every morning, our salvation also in the time of trouble. Beloved, He will strengthen your weak hands and make firm your feeble knees (Isaiah 35:3). In the natural you may not feel the ability to stand in your circumstances. Your heart may be fearful in your desert place with much sorrow and sighing, but believe today that our God will come and save you. When His Spirit is poured out upon you your wilderness will become a fruitful field and the fruitful field counted as a forest (Isaiah 32:15b).

If you are feeling hopelessness and overwhelmed by despair, from my heart to yours, I stand in the gap for you and with you in your negative circumstances. My prayer is that these words of inspiration will reveal the truth of God’s great goodness and willingness to intervene on our behalf, and that you would come to know of a certainty that you can find grace to help in time of need through Jesus, our Lord.

Dear ones, it is always my intention to encourage and inspire, but to have an intimate relationship with God through Jesus, to know Him and allow His glory to shine through us, is a personal commitment, a personal choice each of us must ultimately make in life. I can only share the depths of  pain in and of my own life’s experiences with hopelessness and despair, and with what great grace He brought me out into the glorious light of His Love. It is a process, and a process that is often not without pain. For when we submit to God and allow Him to refine us and burn away all that is of no use to us in our love walk with him, this is often uncomfortable at best and perhaps painful at the very least.

There are moments of instant deliverance in circumstances. There are times a word comes from God, a rhema word, a fresh word from heaven, that changes everything and turns a bad situation into a glorious experience quite instantaneously. And I praise God for these “instant” moments of deliverance. But I know too that the greater the suffering, the greater the blessing. And for me it has been my experience that the greater the suffering, the greater the blessing; the greater the suffering, the sweeter the writing. So allow God to ransom you, obtain joy and gladness through Jesus today, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away (Isaiah 35:10b).

In His Love And God Bless Each Of You!

Words Of Inspiration | Praise And Worship

3

The Heavens Shall Praise Thy Wonders

Habakkuk 3:3b – His glory covered the heavens, and the earth was full of his praise.

Dearest Friends – Today I write these words of inspiration and words of encouragement to remind us all of the importance of praise and worship. Praise is the highest form of worship to God.  His word says to enter His gates with thanksgiving in our hearts, and to enter His courts with praise, be thankful unto him, and bless his name (Psalms 100:4). When you rise up in the morning, when you enter your time of prayer during the day, when you pray before sleeping, take time to praise Him. Take time to thank Him for life and the beauty of it all. Lift your hands toward heaven and allow yourself to sense His presence and nearness to you as you pour out your heart to Him. And in the moment of this closeness give Him praise, honor and glory for that great grace by which He has saved us through Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross.

His word says if we draw nigh to God, He will draw nigh to us (James 4:8). You have but to reach out and touch Him and believe He’s heard your every prayer, and has received your praises as a sweet smelling sacrifice. And how can we not but praise the Lord who is so gracious, full of compassion, slow to anger, and of great mercy (Psalms 145:8)?

Beloved, I do not write these words of inspiration and words of encouragement lightly. I’ve been in the furnace of affliction for an extended period. I  have been in the refiner’s fire. I have had painful circumstances  that were so intense I despaired of even life. But I persevered in seeking God. I sought His face daily and kept the lines of communication open, though I must confess at times I felt I was only talking to myself. I praised Him in the darkest moments of life. I believed His word and knew that He who had begun a good work in me would be able to complete it to the end. And I learned the real meaning of praise. I ultimately learned that the Fourth Man was right there in the furnace with me. I’ve come to know God in ways I never thought were possible. When you reach a point in life where God is absolutely all you have it is a life-changing experience. It is a most painful process but the most richly rewarding experience there is in life.

For to strive to know God as we are known changes everything. You will soon realize as you delve into the really deep things of God that you cannot put Him in a box. His plans for our lives are far above all we could think or ask. And all He requires of us is to believe on the name of Jesus, God’s son, and trust Him, commit our way, commit our dreams and desires to Him, and trust Him.

So it is my most sincere prayer for each of you today that you will accept these words of inspiration and words of encouragement as such, and know that our God is truly an awesome God. He will comfort you if you are in distress. He will provide for your every need. He will give you a love that is unconditional and everlasting. Just fall into His arms today and be at rest in your soul.

In His Love And God Bless Each Of You!

His Great Mercies

Daniel 9:18b – for we do not present our supplications before thee for our righteousness, but for thy great mercies.

My Dearest Friends – I recently reread the 77th Psalm. In this passage of scripture the psalmist is lamenting his seriously deteriorating mental condition. In this Psalm the writer is so troubled that his soul refuses to be comforted. He is crying out to God. He is aware that God is his only help and only hope, yet he is so troubled that he cannot speak and he is unable to sleep. His thoughts are torturing him in that he is aware of God and God’s great love for man, but in his condition he cannot find God and is reasoning within himself why God seems to have left him. In the Psalm he asks himself if God will “cast off forever”. He asks if God’s mercy is “clean gone forever”,  has God “forgotten to be gracious”, and has God in anger “shut up His tender mercies”.

Beloved, we all must confess we have been in the pit of despair, depression, emotional turmoil, mental anguish, physical sickness, the list goes on. And if we are honest we must also confess we have asked God where He is when we are hurting.  Why does God allow us to go through extended periods of time when God seems silent? Experientially, these are the hardest times for me. I know of God’s love for me.  I know God is faithful. And yet there are times I can not seem to find Him anywhere.  There are times when nothing brings comfort, and like the psalmist laments, during these times I think about the days of old, the days when I walked closely with God and felt an intimacy and closeness with Him, and wonder what has changed. In this Psalm the writer calls to remembrance his song in the night.  He speaks to his own heart and his spirit is diligently trying to understand his current condition. And we as well in that condition search our hearts, ask many questions, and the songs we so easily sing on the mountain top are seldom heard in the depths of the pit.

But our God does not want us to feel abandoned at any time in life, most especially in a pit that we cannot escape on our own, we do not understand at times how we ended up there, and our heart knows God is our only strength and our only help. In my younger days as a believer when hard times overwhelmed me my prayer was always help me escape, get me out of here, I can’t bear the pain of being in this mess. It always seemed dark and lonely and I was usually tempted to believe it was due to some failure on my part, an error in judgment, etc. Alas, I have grown in my spiritual life and rather than pray for deliverance (though at times this is the answer), I begin to ask God what is He trying to show me, what can I learn from this experience, what can I learn that can then be used to help others in life.  I now realize that all who try to live faithful in Christ Jesus are going to have times of trial and hardship. It still rains on the just and the unjust. But now when I “think of the days of old” I can only rejoice at the great work God has done in my life. I can see clearly now the “rock from whence I have been hewn”. I have to just spend some time in praise and worship for the great love He has shown me. He did not spare me the pains and losses of life, even emotional turmoil that is often accompanied by a seemingly desperate confusion. But He has walked with me and held my hand through it all. When my way was not clear, He led me in spite of my seeming lostness. When I wasn’t lovable, He loved me anyway. When my faith failed, He was faithful. When questions arose, I may not have sensed an answer, but He persisted in leading me and loving me until, on my knees and absolutely humbled beneath His mighty hand, His love would be shown, joy and strength would flood the mind and body again, refreshing the spirit, and developing a greater trust than I had ever felt possible. What time we are afraid we must trust in the Lord, and they that wait on the Lord shall never be ashamed.

Precious friends, you can find joy in the pit. These words of encouragement and words of inspiration are written for anyone feeling overwhelmed by their current circumstances, or have loved ones in a similar condition. You can know of a surety that God has not forsaken you and His mercies are still sure. It often takes persistence to hang in there, so let  your heart make a diligent search, be honest before God and He will be honest with you. Ask of Him any questions for our questions do not deter His mercies. Our pain and confusion do not change His faithfulness. His love and the gift He gave us, His precious son, Jesus, and life eternally with Him, are awaiting our acceptance. It is a very basic decision for all to make, yet life-changing for those who choose to receive His great love and share that love with others. Yes we can have joy unspeakable and full of glory in this life. Jesus died that we might have life and have it more abundantly, and He is faithful who promised.  Believe this love and let it do a work in your life that will change your heart and mind, especially if you are in the pit, for this love will show you a  more excellent way.

In His Love And God Bless Each Of You!

Words Of Inspiration/Hearing God With Your Heart

Thus Saith The Lord

Jeremiah 29:11-13 –  For I know the thoughts that I think towards you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me and I will hearken unto you. And you shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.

Dear Friends – As I write these words of encouragement today I pray that each one will open their heart to hear what the Lord would say to you. It is my hope that these words of inspiration will motivate you and inspire you on your spiritual journey to have a more intimate relationship with God, and thus a richer, more fulfilling life.

Often what God thinks of us and what we think of ourselves is a totally different scenario. We may not think badly of ourselves, we may just be out of sync with God’s reality in our lives. If you experience any thought that brings condemnation it is not from God. Any thought that brings fear is not from God for God’s word says in 2 Timothy 1:7 that fear is not of the Lord, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. Our God is looking at us through the blood of Jesus which has cleansed us from all unrighteousness. As far as the east is from the west is how far He has removed our transgressions from us because of His great mercy and love towards us. It is often not a matter of “sin” that keeps us from a closeness with our Lord but it is often an inability to receive that great love and endless mercy. He can reach out to us in love yet it is of no benefit in our lives if we are unable or unwilling to receive it because of pride or unbelief.

Experientially when things occur in our lives that cause us pain or discomfort we think God is punishing us in some way, that we deserve the negative circumstances because of who we are or what we may have done.  Take a moment to reread the scripture above.  God is thinking good thoughts about us, thoughts of peace, thoughts of giving us a hope and a future. When He sent His Son to die on the cross in our place our sin debt was paid.  We can have a loving, productive relationship with God because scripture says we are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus (2 Corinthians 5:21).

To hear God with your heart one must first believe that He is and that He sent His son to be the propitiation for our sins.  You may have thought you missed God’s instruction or leading in your life.  You may have made a move or changed directions midstream and now you feel far away from Him. But precious child you must know that what the enemy meant for our harm, God will use for our good. Our circumstances in life cannot hinder our hearing from God if we continue to commit the circumstances to Him and continue to trust in Him. He will make a way where there seems no way when we earnestly pray, earnestly seek His face, and we shall find Him when we search for Him with all of our hearts.  There is no richer, no greater or fulfilling life than the one lived for God through faith in His Son, Jesus.

In Isaiah 30:15 scripture says: For thus saith the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel; In returning and rest shall ye be saved; in quietness and confidence shall be your strength… that is His offer to us, His children. Give Him your heart today.  Give Him your life, and receive His rest, receive the quiet confidence and renewed strength He so longs to give you.

Behold, I stand at the door, and knock; if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me (Revelation 3:20).

Words Of Inspiration/Receiving The Crown Of Life

Being Faithful In Adversity

James 1:12 – Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord has promised to them that love him.

Job 23:10 – But he knoweth the way that I take: when he has tried me I shall come forth as gold.

Beloved – May these words of inspiration bless you, and the words of encouragement be a motivating factor in your life this moment as we reach deeper together into the things of Christ. For all of us that try to live faithful in Christ Jesus there will be trial and test. When trials and temptations arise in James 1:2 the Bible says to count it all joy.  This seems the reverse of how we react to trials and temptations in this life.  But the trying of our faith works patience and if we let patience have her perfect work we will be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.  Often in times of crisis and hardship we just don’t know what to do or how to best handle the situation.  In James 1:5-6 God’s word says if any man lack wisdom let him ask of God who gives to us liberally and is no respecter of persons.  If you ask in faith, believing He is able and willing, His wisdom will be shed abroad in your heart.  If we remain faithful in the hard times, trusting God to care for us and bring us through, looking to Him for wisdom in the situation we shall receive most bountifully from God.  His word says in James 3:17-18 that the wisdom that is from God is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be entreated, full of mercy and good fruits.  God is eager to assist us.  He is eager to help us.  He is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).  If His word tells us to be still and know that He is God in Psalms 46:10a, then we can entreat (earnestly beseech) His mercy to deliver us from any of the fiery darts of the enemy and trust that He is faithful who promised.

Many times in my own experiences when I have earnestly sought the Lord’s answer, the Lord’s help, more often than not, the answer was not readily apparent, or the answer seemed the reverse of what I had prayed for.  But in standing firm, believing that what He sends is best, I have received not only my answer but it has come in the form of a very special gift, all wrapped up in love and tied with wisdom, as every good and perfect gift comes down from God.  It comes to me in ways I could not have even prayed for as we seldom see the situation from all sides.

The same is true though for “unanswered prayer”. We don’t understand at times why God delays or denies seemingly innocent requests, but later in life we are usually shown how wrong our request was and with what love He protected us from harm or further distress. Of course I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the times He gave me exactly what I prayed for exactly as I prayed for it, almost demanding He come through my way, and I have lived to regret it. But even in those times I have taken the experience and used it to grow in my faith and trust in Him. Those experiences have shown me He is a faithful and loving God and His way will always serve us best. It truly becomes a work of patience and He knows what we need before we even ask and He will do only what is best for us. Again dear child, it is His good pleasure to give us the Kingdom.

In His Love And God Bless Each Of You!

Words Of Inspiration And Encouragement/Glory To His Name

On Grace And Glory

Psalm 84:11 – For the Lord God is a sun and shield: the Lord will give grace and glory: no good thing will He withhold from them that walk uprightly.

May these words of inspiration reach deep into your heart today on your spiritual journey and remind you that in Jesus all things are possible. May these words of encouragement reveal to you what a gift God’s grace really is to us.

Grace is defined as the undeserved, unmerited favor of God. That means there is nothing we can do to deserve it, there is nothing we can do to earn it. It is not what we do but what Jesus did at the cross that allows grace into our lives. Glory is defined as the condition of highest achievement, splendor, prosperity, worshipful adoration, etc. We are saved by grace through faith in Jesus, not of ourselves, it is the gift of God. Oh what an awesome God this must be! First He saves us through faith in His son, then He fills us with all the splendor, prosperity, radiant beauty and honor we will allow Him to. Yes, He gives us His beauty for our ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness (Isaiah 61:3).

Dear friend – there is nothing in your life today that can’t be touched by the hand of God and changed from glory to glory and from grace to grace. No good thing will He withhold from them that are trusting in His grace and mercy, believing that through faith in His Son, Jesus, all good things are not only possible but probable. Yes, blessed is the man that is trusting in Jesus for the name of Jesus is above every name whether it be sickness, poverty, depression, whatever you might be facing this day, everything must bow to that name. Beloved, it is God which works in us both to will and to do His good pleasure (Philippians 2: 9-13). And it is His good pleasure to give us the Kingdom.

And if we know that we are saved by this marvelous grace, and He longs to bless us and fill us with His love and passion for life, let us not tarry in negative circumstances. Let us rise up and be healed and blessed that we might in turn be a blessing to others. There are so many people in the world who are hurting, lonely, lost and broken in some way. Take hold the hand of Jesus and step out of your negative situation. Take up your sick bed and walk, walk right out into a world just waiting for a good word, a positive message, a real and lasting hope, and a heartfelt compassion for our fellow human beings in whatever state they may be in. Yes, Jesus is all we need to be the best we can be. And a prayer in His name can bring about positive change to our own lives and to those around us.

The gospel of Jesus Christ is really a simple message but it has the power to transform lives and circumstances far above anything we could have hoped or imagined. Say a prayer and take these thoughts with you today that through Jesus you can do all things because He will strengthen you, and through Jesus life can be not just a spiritual journey but an adventure to last not just in this life but in the life to come. It is my prayer that these words of encouragement and words of inspiration have done just that. Encouraged you in the true love and tender care of our Lord, and inspired you to trust Him above all else in life or life’s circumstances for no good thing will He withhold from us.

God Bless!

Words Of Encouragement/A Walk Through The Valley

Inspirational Article

A Spiritual Journey

Psalms 23:4a – Yeah though I walk through the valley of the shadow…

Life is a spiritual journey, long or short, and each one must walk out his or her own destiny.  On this road of life you will be on a mountain at one moment, perhaps enjoying all the best life has to offer, and in a heartbeat, in a twinkling of an eye, your circumstances change and you find yourself in the valley, surrounded by the cares of this world we each one try so hard to avoid.  And if in this valley you are not able to stand, our God will reach down and carry you.  He will send angels to bear you up lest you fall.  You will be led beside still waters, or through torrential rivers.  You will be in the  depths of turmoil and cares, trials and tribulations, but the floods will not overflow you.  For God is ever by our side, ever holding our hand.  And even to our old age He will carry us.  What words of encouragement for those seeking emotional healing and inner peace!

The 23rd Psalms says He will make us lie down in green pastures.  I question the word make as I wonder why man would have to be made or forced in some way to lie down in green pastures.  Are we not always looking for those proverbial ”greener pastures”?  I believe that God in His great love for us is literally at work in our daily lives manipulating our circumstances as we look to Him for guidance, changing our focus, opening the eyes or our heart to not only see Him but to acknowledge His goodness and provision in our lives. In the struggles of life today if we saw a green pasture on our journey wouldn’t we run to just collapse there, to smell the newness of the grass, to absorb the velvety softness, to rest in the cushy greenness, to run our fingers through every blade as we smile at the beautiful surroundings in which we would find ourselves? Would we not just totally surrender for that moment in time and turn again to thank God for it?  But man in his busy, hurried pace must often come to the end of himself, be reminded of his need of the green pastures, to be led beside the still waters, for it is in those moments that God in His goodness restores our soul and leads us in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake.

My dear friend, if you are struggling in your spiritual journey in some way today, longing for inner peace and emotional healing, if the hardness of life has overwhelmed you and crushed you, take heart.  Our God is ever present for He is our refuge, a very present help in the time of trouble. His grace and mercy is there for the taking.  In the hard places of life our character grows strong if we allow His sweetness and tenderness to enter into the situation.  In the hard places of life we are refined as silver in the furnace, and all of the unnecessary things in life are burned away leaving us with a lighter heart, a purpose in life’s journey, and a glorious destiny, ever being led by His Holy Spirit, changed from grace to grace as He gives us His beauty for our ashes.

God Bless!

Motivational Words Of Encouragement And Wisdom/Stand Still And See The Salvation Of The Lord

Inspirational Article

Be Still And Know That I Am God

2 Chronicles 20:15b – Thus saith the Lord unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God’s.

Dearest Friends – I don’t know about you, but I spend a lot of time, and may I say wasted time, running around trying to put out fires, or seeming fires, or suspicioned fires, whatever the case may be, in my life. So often I realize I have reached the point of mental and physical exhaustion trying to do God’s job. He sees our lives, and the circumstances surrounding our lives, in total, while we only see in part.

I write this inspirational message today, hopefully filled with motivational words of encouragement and wisdom, to anyone  that is struggling with trying to keep all the ends tied, trying to solve every problem, or figure everything out, burning the candle at both ends as it were.  This motivational message is just that, a message to encourage you to reach deeper into the things of God, inspirational thoughts to perhaps enlighten you on your spiritual journey, and words of wisdom to relate to you that resting in God is always better than our hurried pace in life, our rushing to judgment in various situations, and carrying a load that we as humans just cannot carry by ourselves in our limited understanding of future events and/or current circumstances.

God’s word says “Be still and know that I am God” (Psalms 46:10). That is hard for most of us. In the above referenced Bible verse, God actually tells his people not to be afraid of the great multitude they see in front of them and do not get discouraged for the battle is not theirs, it’s the Lord’s.  So, beloved, when it seems there are more against you than there are for you, remember, there is a rest to the people of God and this rest is so complete it is often easy to miss. It seems too easy to just stand in the midst of turmoil and the storms of life and see the salvation of the Lord – but His word says “after you have done all to stand, then stand…” (Ephesians 6:13b). Friends, after you have done all you know to do, and especially when you do not know what to do, stand still and see the salvation of the Lord. If you’re trusting Him in life He will not fail you. If you are waiting on Him you will not be ashamed but shall renew your strength as it is written in Isaiah 41:31 – But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

Yes friends, though an army encamp against you, it is God that will save you, for He will stretch forth His hand against the wrath of your enemies (Psalm 138:7b). Prolonged negative circumstances and the extreme stress caused by such can leave us battle fatigued, ready to faint and just give up. But be not weary in well doing for scripture tells us we shall reap if we faint not. And what shall we reap? We shall reap a harvest of peace, bountiful blessings, joy unspeakable and full of glory. For while we may very much know that God is able when we’re not, able to hold us and help us in times of fiery trials, in times of heartache and turmoil, it is often difficult to keep putting one foot in front of the other. Be assured, in our darkest hours He is there for us, and will carry us when we are no longer able to help ourselves. Just be still and know, stand still and see!

So believe today that the Lord thy God will “hold thy right hand saying unto thee, fear not; I will  help thee” (Isaiah 41:14). The greatest gift you can give yourself today is resting in the palm of God’s hands.

God Bless!
