He Restoreth My Soul

Psalms 23 – The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want. 2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. 3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. 4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. 5 Thou prepares a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. 6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

The Shepherd knows what pastures are best for his sheep, and they must not question nor doubt, but trustingly follow Him. Perhaps He sees that the best pastures for some of us are to be found in the midst of opposition or of earthly trials. If He leads you there, you may be sure they are green for you, and you will grow and be made strong by feeding there. Perhaps He sees that the best waters for you to walk beside will be raging waves of trouble and sorrow. If this should be the case, He will make them still waters for you, and you must go and lie down beside them, and let them have all their blessed influences upon you.
H. W. SMITH.

Dear Friends – May these words of encouragement bless you this day. May you become keenly aware of God’s love and tender care of you. As a shepherd tends to his flock, so God gives us direction at every turn. At every crossroads in life our Savior is there pointing the way. Often we do not listen. Too many times we think that just can’t be the path we have to walk as it is not what we feel is best for us or even where we wanted to go. Ah, but here lies the sweetest of truths. Just as the above quote by H. W. Smith says, the places God chooses for us may not be our choice, but God is able to still those raging waters, calm His children in the midst of trials and tribulations, and alas, there are “blessed influences” we would certainly miss by going our own way.

In reading the Shepherd’s Psalm I am comforted by the deep and abiding care that is expounded upon. In reading it at first glance it seems perhaps the norm in life until one takes the time to meditate on each verse, to delve more deeply into the rich truths of the Psalm. In the first verse, if the Lord is our shepherd we will not want, one could stop right there and be filled with so much of Christ our world would most certainly change. For the job of a shepherd is to lead His sheep where they may drink of the water of life, have adequate food, protection from harm, etc. He speaks to them and soon they recognize his voice and they follow him because they trust him.

Oh that we had that kind of childlike trust in our Lord. Green pastures, still waters, yes, but His green pastures, His still waters. There’s where the schism comes in at times. But in staying with Him, trusting at all costs, all your paths will be paths of righteousness, how blessed! And we think perhaps we don’t want to go where He leads at times?

Verse 4 speaks of walking through the valley of the shadow of death fearing no evil. One thing that jumps out of that passage of scripture is the word shadow. I feel it is a time in life where we may feel threatened in some way, certainly fearful, but it is only a shadow, not real, for God is standing so close to us the Light of His love will drive the shadow away. Another of the major keywords in that verse is THROUGH of course. One must keep going, keep trusting, keep putting one foot in front of the other until this season of the valley experience has passed. We know that a valley is a low place, usually with mountains on either side. One could be in the lowest of places in life, but see in the distance where they could be, would like to be, perhaps are trying to be. Keep going forward, beloved. Let God lead you in His way and be truly changed, uplifted, awakened to all the beauty that is the life God has prepared for you.

As you remain under the care and leading of the Great Shepherd you will soon learn that trusting Him and letting  Him lead becomes easier and easier. His rod and His staff are more than comforting, for with one He corrects us and with the other He leads us. And by staying on His chosen paths where do we end up? Alas, He prepares a table full of His bounty just for us and in the presence of our enemies, in the presence of all those that said we’d never make it. Yes here we are because we chose to trust Him, our head is anointed with oil, that’s feeling as if we could accomplish anything and have His power to do so. Our cup is running over, yes we have more than heart could wish. And ultimately, goodness and mercy are right behind us 24-7. Think of God’s goodness and mercy following you wherever you go, in all that you do, every circumstance. Goodness and mercy, goodness and mercy. You trusted God and now because of your faithfulness you have received a rich reward. What could not be accomplished in our lives if we knew of a truth that goodness and mercy were forever with us for there is no limit to God’s goodness, no end to His mercy?

Receive it and be blessed today, my friends. Stay with the Lord no matter what. If your path is not what you would have chosen and the Lord has seen fit to lead you there, think on those “blessed influences”. For all the paths of the Lord are mercy and truth  unto those that have made Him the Lord of their life (Psalms 25:10).

Beloved if you don’t know this One called Jesus, God’s Son, take a moment and ask Him to come into your heart and be the Lord of your life. Ask Him to forgive you of your sins and cleanse you from all unrighteousness, then by faith believe He has done so. Commit your life, your way, your dreams and desires to Him and begin to follow Him wherever He may lead you. You will soon realize you are walking on His paths of righteousness for His name sake.  For scripture says in Psalms 25:8 good and upright is the Lord and He wants to teach you in His way. If you are overwhelmed in life right now, if your life is broken and in disarray, if you feel lost and alone,  let God show you a true and better way, let God show you His way. Remember the “blessed influences”, the cup that runs over, the bountiful table prepared especially for you in the presence of your enemies, and the great goodness and mercy that will be ever with you.

The Lord bless thee, and keep thee: 25 The Lord make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: 26 The Lord lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace…Num 6:24-26

Words of Inspiration | The Spoken Word

1

A Soft Word

Ephesians 4:29– Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying that it may minister grace unto the hearers.

Proverbs 15:23 – A man hath joy by the answer of his mouth: and a word spoken in due season, how good is it!

THE SPOKEN WORD

The spoken word is powerful, can build up or tear down.

A source of healing hurting souls, our words with hope abound.

The careless word in anger spoken, like knives, can cut the heart,

and sever friendships, family ties, as lives are torn apart.

We ought with words to raise man’s spirit, and lift the life cast low,

to let our Savior speak through us, His healing waters flow.

Let’s bind the tongue and stop the words we speak in thoughtless error,

that all our words, to all we meet, we’re not ashamed to share.

With words we speak the Savior’s love, we witness to the lost,

so let us think before we speak and careless words are tossed.

If we then find ourselves o’ercome with anger, rage and wrath,

“Sin not”, our God commanded us, His wisdom guides our path.

Dear Friends – Proverbs 18:21 reminds us that death and life are in the power of the tongue. It is important to remember that the tongue is expounded on in scripture in great depth and exhaustive detail, meaning if so much time were given to instruction and wisdom regarding our tongue, it must be a very important part of lives, our daily walk, and most certainly our love walk with God. How precious that God took so much time to teach us and instruct us regarding our tongue, the words we speak and what power these have because, as most of us have experienced, the tongue can be our best friend or our worst enemy.

Many of us speak things to others in haste, perhaps in anger, and then later regret those words. And the Holy Spirit is not slow in convicting us when we’ve spoken in error, out of turn, or simply because we felt like it.  For you see, when we speak kind words, soft words, it not only deters wrath, but people give pause in the heat of an argument, people are touched emotionally in a positive way, and anger is often quelled in the midst of strife and confrontation. People today need encouragement. People today need to see the Love that lives within us, that it is alive and active.

So often I’ve found that folks that seem rude at times, cruel and even mean, usually have heartache, a life teeming with unresolved issues and brokenness. Keeping this at the forefront of our thinking should be a gentle reminder to not react in kind in stressful situations. If you can speak a good word from the river of life flowing in you, an encouraging word, and freely give of the Love that Christ has given you, I believe seeds of hope can be planted everywhere we go and to everyone we meet. In 1 Peter 3:15 scripture tells us to sanctify the Lord God in our hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh us a reason of the hope that is in us with meekness and fear. Yes, if you speak kindly and lovingly, encouraging and uplifting, especially in the face of anger and strife, people witness this and this in turn becomes a testimony of the Love of Christ that is in us. When the Holy Spirit is given reign in the words of our mouths we open the door for greater opportunities to reach the lost, to minister to those in need, and all because we ordered our conversation aright, and scripture again says those that order their conversation aright will see the salvation of God. And God’s word says the liberal soul shall be made fat and he that watereth shall be watered also himself. What you give to others in the form of your words shall come back to you, dear ones, so may it be always words of faith, hope and love, words of life, and may those words come back to bless you in countless, bountiful ways so that you yourself begin to confess you are blessed to be a blessing.

Romans 10:9-10 says “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” Believe it, receive it and confess it. Let your mouth be filled with good things and be bold to share them with a hurting world. For you’ve heard it said, “if you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything at all”. This is good advice in any circumstance or situation. Where the Spirit of the Lord is there is peace, so always let peace be your guide.

And in all your speaking don’t forget how important your words are in your own life, family situations, and circumstances. For negative words and thoughts about ourselves, our family, our circumstances can be just as detrimental and destructive as angry words spoken to others. God loves us. We have been redeemed by His Son, Jesus, and scripture says if we believe on Him we shall not be ashamed. Situations and circumstances may look negative. Your path may be obscured by pain or depression, lack or loneliness. But God shall supply all your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Speak blessings into your own life. Speak blessings into the lives of those around you. Rise up and speak boldly, calling those things that be not (things you can’t see yet) as though they were already in existence. Let your words be filled with the Love of the Lord, for yourself, for anyone, and let these words be spoken with wisdom, admonishing peace and goodwill as much as lieth in your power to do so. Scripture says in Proverbs 15:23 as noted above that a word spoken in due season, how good it is! And if you find yourself backed in a corner, then just start praising God, for God inhabits the praises of His people.

But be reminded beloved, scripture says in 1 Peter 3:4 that a meek and quiet spirit is in the sight of God of great price. I must say that few people today realize the beauty in this scripture. When it comes to the words we speak, sometimes less is more. There’s nothing wrong with being a quiet person, I am one myself, and being quiet rather than carelessly tossing words out there just to be heard can speak volumes in its own right. After all, folks today are bombarded with noise, cell phones ringing, traffic racing, demands of life coming from every angle. Sometimes, a quiet time alone with someone can do more good than many words. A gentle touch on the hand, a warm hug, and soft words that carry a lot of weight, easy on the ears and calming on the heart are actions that speak louder than words and cannot be underestimated in their value.

So always think before speaking. Consider the circumstances, the lives you’re affecting, and make a conscious decision to speak with love. “Be the message” as my friend, Jene Wilton, so eloquently puts it. For our lives are a message to others and our words are just a testimony of that message, a testimony that we belong to Christ and Christ is God’s.

In His Love,

Words of Inspiration | The Master’s Hands

2

His Eye Is On The Sparrow

Psalms 139:10 –Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me.

THE MASTER’S HANDS

The Master’s hands, so tender, yet, in strength they hold the earth.

They reach out, touch and heal our wounds, and lead us to rebirth.

In sorrow those hands carry us, in pain with stroke so precious.

The Master’s hands hold all our cares, give strength that does refresh us.

I know those hands will carry me and safely lead me home -

Where I shall reach and touch those hands that claimed me for His own.

And as I touch them, feel the warmth of love that brought me o’er -

I’ll lift my hands and praise Him, sing with angels evermore.

Dear Friends – Recently I witnessed a  little bird fall to the ground. It seemed as if its wing was broken. I watched the little bird writhing in seeming pain. It’s head was thrown back as if it was gasping for air and it seemed for all intents and purposes to be dying. I was so stirred with emotion in that moment. I stretched my hand out toward that little bird and just prayed for God to intervene and send healing.

I walked away and just sat some distance away thinking of what I had just witnessed and why my soul was so stirred into action. In about five minutes I walked back over to check on the bird and he flew up into the trees. I felt as if I had just witnessed the hand of God reach down and heal one of His own little creatures and I was reminded of the song “His Eye Is On The Sparrow” and realized what it truly means. For if God cares for the sparrows and sees everyone that falls, as scripture tells us, how much more He cares for His children.

Your life may be in turmoil right now. Your situation and circumstances may seem hopeless. You may be despairing and distraught. But God is aware of your needs and His eye is watching you even now. Perhaps you have others praying for you and praying with you. You may be among the fortunate that have family and friends around, people that truly love you and truly assist in any way they can. But if you are alone in your suffering, take heart. God said He would never leave us or forsake us. He instructs us to cast all our cares upon Him because He cares for us. He is concerned if you feel you have “crashed and burned”. For all you may feel is wrong in your life, He has a list of all that is right, for His ways are not our ways and His thoughts are not our thoughts, as scripture says.

Often, some of the most devastating and painful moments in life are used by God for great things in our lives, those over-the-top things we could have never expected. More often than not what we consider an absolute disaster with no way out, is just an opportunity for God to do His greatest work, an opportunity for God to touch not only our personal lives, but the lives of those around us, all for the glory of God and to accomplish a greater good. And the more you yield your painful circumstances, your “crash and burn” moments, your “I can’t go on another minute” moments, the more He reveals Himself to you and the more strengthened you begin to feel. His word says to draw nigh to God and He will draw nigh to you. He meets you just where you are, just as you are. As scripture tells us, if God be for you who can be against you?

Yes, I saw the hand of God reach down and rescue a little bird and I was reminded of how much God is in control of His Universe. I witnessed in nature His tenderness and His unfailing love, and perhaps it was just what I needed that day, a gentle reminder that He’s right there with us in the everydayness of our lives, the trials, tribulations, tragedies, and victories. These words of inspiration are given to you as a reminder of the same. These words of encouragement are fresh from the Spirit, so know, dear ones, He is caring for you.

Look for Him in even the most trivial and/or unexpected circumstances. See His hands at work and feels His presence in your life. Be encouraged and have faith that He loves you. Begin to see Him in the beauty of nature and know that if He reached down and saved a little bird, how much more is He willing to touch your life and your circumstances with healing, with provision, with salvation, with His peace and His love of which there is no end. He gave us His son, Jesus, our  Supreme Sacrifice, that we might have life and have it more abundantly. Yes beloved, our God is in all things all around us every day. A miracle is waiting to be witnessed just as His touch is waiting to be felt. Ask Him into your heart today. Take hold His hand and trust His love, His unending mercy and grace, and His undying care for you for nothing is too difficult for our God.

In His Love,

“He Is Not Here, He Is Risen”

EARTHQUAKE VS HEARTQUAKE

by Coleman Collins on Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at 12:02pm

The world watched Japan confoundedly

As the 9.0 magnitude earthquake struck

Caused by sudden energy release in the earth’s crust

Creating seismic waves from the hypocenter

It was not just the earthquake that caused problems

But its rippled effects, triggering Tsunami

The unstoppable waves roared into the towns

Damaging EVERYTHING along its path

It triggered yet, another evil

The exposure of harmful radiation

More dangerous because it’s invisible

Yet heavy doses have lethal effect

I set my mind to consider another type of quake

Just as destructive as the earthquake

I call it HEART-QUAKE

What a coincidental synonym!

Major events often happen to us

Causing our hearts to ‘quake’

Rippled effects of this quake may occur

Adversely affecting every sphere of our life

 Dear Friend,

Loss of a dear one, failure in business/exams, disappointments from trusted friends, job loss or financial distress can often make our hearts to quake. It can be very devastating OR it can be a blessing (if viewed with a telescope of faith).

Just as the inhabitants of Kamaishi in Japan ran to higher ground elevations when the 10 meters high waves of Tsunami flooded the town, as believers, there’s a similar advice from the scriptures as a rescue from HEART-QUAKE

Psalms 61:2 – ‘From the end of the earth I will cry to You, When my HEART is overwhelmed and fainting; Lead me to the ROCK that is higher than I.’

Grace and Peace

_______________________________________________________________________

The above article was written by Coleman Collins. He is a truly anointed brother in Christ and I wanted to include his article on this blog as I felt it was so powerful. The recent earthquake in Japan has had a lasting impact on people around the world, not just those in Japan, but worldwide, and has brought literally millions to their knees in prayer, seeking God’s wisdom, His counsel, His love and protection.

I was truly touched by Coleman’s analogy in comparing an earthquake to a heart-quake, for truly the shaking and breaking the human heart is called to endure is in so many ways similar to an earthquake, the disorientation, shock and disbelief, panic at times, overwhelming devastation and destruction.

Beloved, the pain in your heart may be so great at times you feel you will not surely survive. The circumstances may be so dire, so critical and desperate, you may wonder can our God fix this, will He show up in time?  For a heart-quake is many times greater than life’s minor disappointments or distractions. A heart-quake will take hold of every aspect of your existence, every fiber of your being. Every cell in your body will be crying for relief for you feel as though you cannot hold on much longer, you cannot continue in the ocean of agony. This is a time when you need God as you perhaps have never needed Him before.

Yes it’s the depths of despair, this heart-quake we feel at times, it’s the smothering feeling of hopelessness, the darkest of hours, the longest of days. But be encouraged my friends, for when your heart is overwhelmed, when you’re feeling weak and faint, when all seems lost, call on the Lord with all of the “beautiful creation” that is you. Call on the Lord knowing He is touched by your infirmities. After all, He knew you when He formed you in your mother’s womb. He will hear you when you call and He will answer you. He will gather you as a hen does gather her chicks under her wings. He will come to you and not leave you comfortless! Trust Him. Trust this Rock that is higher than we can imagine, able to deliver us and care for us in any and all circumstances. For in all actuality, when life is viewed through the telescope of faith, we are made aware that only God can save, deliver and heal. Only God can, and most assuredly He will!

In His Love,

Words of Inspiration | Endless Praise Poem

Endless Days

1 Peter 5-7 - Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations: That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ.

ENDLESS PRAISE

Who can know the pain of one’s own heart when rejection’s bitter sting has wrought an aching deep inside man’s innermost part and a longing for relief that just cannot be bought?

Who can know the sorrow felt when others turn away or say they just don’t understand your making? How can one so lost in life reach out, what words to say to those once true, now seen as loves forsaking?

Only God, through Christ, His Son, can feel our deepest need, and make a life alive with love and steadfast care. Only God can take a soul, with tender manna feed, to bring us out of sorrows’ grasp, heal shattered hearts laid bare.

As a clock-maker so delicately, intricately seeks to mend, with patience so few men ever attain, though diligently they strive – our precious Heavenly Father does His Holy Spirit send to enlighten our darkest, most dreadful paths, our spirit to revive.

Nothing is left unturned, untouched. His light bares every soul. So completely are we known by Him, perfect love, perfect light. And every fear is calmed as in resignation we let Him mold. Our very lives are changed as blind eyes receive His sight.

This change is often painful, most men don’t want to go this far with God, our own wills dead and cast aside. But there is such reward at last, when Christ we’ve come to know. And life goes on when life is gone, with Jesus we abide.

To think, forever we’ll be at His feet, no more rejection’s fear. Everyday to spend in songs, rejoicing in heaven above. No loneliness will cloud our days, no nights of darkness drear’, just endless days of endless praise ‘midst never-ending love.

The Lord bless thee, and keep thee: The Lord make his face shine upone thee: The Lord lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace. Num 6:24-26

In His Love,

Words of Inspiration | Misunderstood

Inner Uncertainty

Isaiah 50:7 – For the Lord God will help me; therefore shall I not be confounded: therefore have I set my face like a flint, and I know that I shall not be ashamed.

Dearest Friends – The following is a poem by Jon Freeman. Jon paints pictures with his words. Jon paints tragedies and triumphs. Jon paints circumstances most of us find ourselves in, boxed in, hope is fading, yet precious and beautiful are his words. His poetry is like a breath of fresh air, the first spring rain, and always leave you a better person after reading his poetry. I am using this poem about being misunderstood because it so honestly describes the emotions that most of us have when we feel misunderstood, and yet it relates God’s love for us in spite of ourselves.  It is not merely being misunderstood by those around us but allowing ourselves to mistakenly feel worthless and useless when negative circumstances and experiences leave us exhausted, and doubtful of ever seeing the Son shine again on our spiritual journey.

“Hello Misunderstood, how are you today? Can I feed your lonely soul with a word of warm embrace? You don’t expect the world to turn a blind eye to your waste, but I refuse to settle for less than the best scenario case. You won’t accept a penny more than what your mind states it’s worth, but you were set at priceless the day of your birth. You cannot find a reason more to push through closed or open doors. You will not listen to shouts except from your own skin. I know because I know, I’ve been where you have been. So let me speak a color that you will surely know, a shade from my heart and to this heart is sewn. I will paint you beautiful for all the world to see. You thought you were nothing, but you’re very precious to me.”  by JON FREEMAN

Beloved, sometimes we struggle to relate our innermost feelings to those closest to us. Sometimes no matter what we say about how we feel, how we stand on a matter, what we want out of life, we are met with blank stares or rolling of the eyes. People often will pretend not to understand us for their own protection. After all, if they admit to understanding our pain and frustrations in relational experiences, would they not also have to own up to their responsibility in being a part of the pain, and many will not man-it-up for that reason. It may not help us in feeling less misunderstood but hang on to the fact that things may not be as bad as they seem.

But sometimes people do not truly understand us. It is at these times that we can feel isolated and begin to feel there is something wrong with us. Just because others do not understand us does not mean we are in error in our thinking or feelings. We are not always in the wrong because others look at us like we are a “fruit cake”. The scripture above says God will help us and we won’t be left confounded, confused and distraught. God will help us because He understands us. He made us and He understands everything about us for He knows us better than we know ourselves. That’s a good reason right there to cheer up and let Him have His way in your life and circumstances. For our momentary feelings of  ”lostness” are actually when we are right in the palm of His hands if He is our Savior. And when we feel the most useless, that is when He can step in and use us for the most glorious and unexpected plan. Our emotional turmoil doesn’t matter but our willingness to trust Him with it matters greatly, and will determine an outcome of victory or defeat.

Our life is a testimony to others in good times and bad, in times of trial and turmoil, or times of ease and comfort. Being misunderstood is only how we perceive things, or perhaps how others make us feel. But how awesome that God knows all. God is aware of the confusion and pain in the heart.  He knows exactly how we got that way and what it will take to deliver us again to walk in the glorious Light of His Love.

Think about it, we see ourselves as worthless at times, useless, and so weary from trying to make people understand us, that it is true, we don’t have the strength to deal with the closed or open doors standing right in front of us. But God doesn’t see us that way. He sees us as priceless and unique since the day of our birth. He had a beautiful plan for our lives the day we were born. When we hold His hand and trust in Him, He brings us through the dark places and hard times, emerging on the other side more beautiful, stronger, with a greater faith and trust in Him. We come out of tragedies and times of feeling lonely and misunderstood with a greater understanding of not only ourselves and His work in our lives, but the impact our lives have on those around us, those whose lives may not be otherwise changed by His goodness if we ourselves did not allow Him to work in us and through us for the greater good.

So what is being misunderstood? To me it is an open doorway to a greater Love walk with Christ Jesus, our Lord, allowing God to turn the mess in your life into a message, the test into a testimony, and the trial into a triumph, as I saw it so sweetly written recently. Being misunderstood can be frustrating, but knowing God understands all and is at work in our lives even when we find ourselves at odds even with our own selves is exhilarating. You will feel a new wind in your sails with God at the helm, and being misunderstood won’t seem that important knowing He is in control. You’ll never be ashamed if you trust Him. And beloved, if God be for you, who can be against you?

In His Love,

Lynda Signature

Waiting Quietly

Waiting Quietly

Lamentations 3:21-27 &40-41- This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope. 22 It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed because his compassions fail not. 23 They are new every morning; great is thy faithfulness. 24 The Lord is my portion saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him. 25 The Lord is good unto them that wait for him. 26 It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the Lord. 40 Let us search and try our ways, and turn again to the Lord. 41 Let us lift up our heart with our hands unto God in the heavens.

Dearest Friends – Truly it can only be said that a man’s hope is in the Lord. Man may try many things to find peace. Some things may last for a while. Some things may bring a brief happiness or a fleeting feeling of success, but ultimately man is left searching deeper within himself or farther into worldly things for that elusive peace and satisfaction that is found only in God. Yes, man may travel to far away places in an attempt to escape the turmoil in his soul. But the continual longing of the soul for life’s deeper purpose and greater meaning is found only in God. God created us to have fellowship with Him and without it there is a basic emptiness in the heart, a constant feeling of “there must be more to life than this”. And this longing, this constant uneasiness, is one of God’s greatest gifts to men. For it makes us aware of our need of Him. It catapults us on a spiritual journey to seek Him and search for Him with all of our hearts. And scripture says we will find Him when we have searched for Him with all we have and all we are. When our heart is poured into the matter, we find God. We find the greatest love, the deepest fulfilment, the sweetest grace, the richest mercy, abundant life, freedom to be all He created us to be, and all embodied in our precious Savior, Jesus.

So if you find yourself lonely and broken, scripture says let us search and try our ways and turn again to the Lord. Often times we want to blame others for our predicaments and just as often perhaps we have good reason to place blame squarely on the shoulders of someone other than ourselves, but I find it is always more productive and much more rewarding to ask ourselves, “what can I learn from this? What is God saying to me? What wisdom is in this overwhelming challenge that I can glean for later experiences?” For we all know there will be many more experiences where wisdom is needed. There will always be someone or something that trips us up, causes us to doubt ourselves, and ultimately may lead to a crash-and-burn experience if we are not guarding our hearts and our lives with the love of God.

Because the Lord’s compassion will not fail us and His mercies are new every morning we can have hope that He will come and help us. He is aware of our frailties, our confusion and doubt at times. He knows full well how we feel when we have failed or committed gross misjudgment, and still He is faithful to us. Still He calls us to place our hope in Him and quietly wait for His salvation. Truly He is good to them that wait for Him and to the soul that earnestly seeks Him. Yes we can have hope in Him because He is our portion, our lot in life, our destiny. We can have hope in Him because Lamentations 3:31-36 says For the Lord will not cast off forever: 32 But though he cause grief, yet will he have compassion according to the multitude of his mercies. 33 For he doth not afflict willingly nor grieve the children of men. 34 To crush under his feet all the prisoners of the earth, 35 To turn aside the right of a man before the face of the most High, 36 To subvert a man in his cause, the Lord approveth not. He does not cast us off forever. We do go through times of pain and grief but He shows us compassion according to the multitude of His mercies, and this mercy is infinite. Our God is not out to crush us, to afflict us and grieve us just because He is God. If we are saved, He sees us covered in the blood of Jesus, His Son, and this blood has cleansed us from all unrighteousness and has made us the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. This blood of Jesus has taken away the fear of failure, the fear of being forsaken or ultimately lost. This blood of Jesus changes hopelessness into a great and lasting hope.

The term subvert used in verse 36 means to overthrow or destroy, to undermine or corrupt and verse 36 tells us the Lord does not approve of that. For He knows our hearts would fail us and we would be rendered ineffective if every mistake we made brought us a crushing blow or grief upon grief. Beloved, He’s our hope when life fails us or when we fail in life. He’s our hope when we’re groping in darkness or shaken with tragedy and loss. He is all we need in any circumstance so search your heart today and see where your hope lies. He will come and save you if you ask Him into your heart. He will be faithful to deliver you. He will show you His greatest goodness when you put your hope in Him. And they that put their trust in the Lord shall never be ashamed.

The Planting Of The Lord

Psalm 1:3- He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper.

The Planting Of God

God’s promise is sure to those that love Him.

He’ll guide us, protect us, send love without end.

So many promises in His Word just for those

that know Him, and seek Him wherever they go.

And scripture reveals that He’ll plant us as trees,

by waters that flow just to nourish each leaf.

And all that we do and all that we touch

will be seen to prosper, He loves us that much.

Our tree will stand tall reaching out for the sky,

as sunbeams dance merrily in breezes’ soft  sigh.

Our leaves, always green, shade the fruit-bearing soon,

as waters of life nourish each tiny bloom.

Yes it’s precious to be firmly planted by God,

alive in His own most delectable sod.

We’re pruned and we’re shaped as He sweetly desires,

and blessed beyond measure as branches reach higher.

And all will be drawn to our shade for a rest,

where they’ll eat the fruit, will be surely the best.

For God’s been at work in His garden of trees

tilling and toiling, caressing our leaves.

He knows just how beautiful a tree can become

when placed in His hands in surrender to love.

So I’m gonna stay in His garden and see

just what kind of tree He’s designed me to be.

In Him I’ll have fruit that is luscious and sweet,

with scents so appealing, a welcoming treat.

And the world will look on in amazement, I’m sure,

at the grandiose sight of God’s trees’ allure.

The sway in the wind will be music to hear,

to those resting ‘neath them as rivers run near.

So let our God plant you and prune you each day.

Be the tree for the strangers that happen your way.

For you never know whose own life you may save,

if you stand deeply rooted and live life God’s way.

The grace of our Lord Jesus be with you all!

In His Love,

Be Still And Know

Psalms 77:1-2 - I cried unto God with my voice, even unto God with my voice and he gave ear unto me. In the day of my trouble I sought the Lord: my sore ran in the night, and ceased not: my soul refused to be comforted. I remembered God and was troubled: I complained, and my spirit was overwhelmed. Selah.

 BE STILL MY CHILD

My precious child why do you doubt the love I have for you. Your troubled soul, the weary mind, each day begin anew. You cannot seem to grasp my hand or feel my warm embrace. You will not let your eyes meet mine or gaze into my face. The pain you feel in tortured thoughts, and life’s rejections sore, begin a downward spiral as you pace upon the floor. Reasoning and questioning with answers seldom found, have left you broken, wounded, lying helpless on the ground. Your spirit now is overwhelmed as darkened paths you trod. Those troubles may seem large to you but I’m a great big God. Though nights are long and restless spent, and midnight seems as dawn, you can’t find peace, you cannot speak, for comfort how you long. But my sweet child I’ve come today from someplace faraway. I’m knocking now at your heart’s door, don’t turn and run away. For I am all you’ll ever need so dry the many tears. I love you without measure, child, there is no need to fear. For what you thought was hopelessness and sorrow without end, was just your Savior, Jesus, asking you to let Him in. Put down your pride, forsake the wrath, and throw earth’s weapons down. You will not need them here with me all decked in robe and crown. I died for you, my lovely bride, and rose to give you life. I rose to cleanse each part of you, give peace instead of strife. Look to me and learn of me, let Love become your Guide. Receive the greatness that I Am, from others this not hide. For when I made you, darling child, I knew you were the best. Everything about you soon will glow above the rest. My strength I will pour into you for times when you are weak. You’ll feel it surging through your life as more of me you seek. For I am He that called you forth, I knew you in the womb. And though you’ve felt so all alone, I’ve come to comfort you. I’ve come to rescue you, dear one, and save your pining soul. I’ve come to make my home in you, your heart a new abode. Just ask me in and soon you’ll see the greatest Love of all, was waiting ever patiently until you heard my call. And yes my lovely bride I see you clothed in glowing white. There’s no more scarlet anywhere, sin’s stains are gone from sight. The failures, doubts and fears you felt have all been washed away, by Jesus’ blood at Calvary, you’re all brand new today. Yes, baby girl, your days will now be sweet and filled with peace. I’ve given you a new song in the night to help you sleep. So come each day and talk to me, I’ll fellowship with you. And you will grow so close to me, you’ll not find love so true. Yes we will have communion that will stir your soul to fly. You’ll soon be mounting up with eagles, soaring in the sky. I’ve given you my kingdom, it’s tucked deep within your heart. And this I promise you, beloved, it never shall depart. In summer gaze upon the sun and feel its presence warm. At night you’ll marvel darkened skies with stars like glitter blown. In springtime walk the garden lane, the roses’ scents inhale, for all earth’s beauty I have made, though to your beauty pale. In autumn see the many hues, the yellows, reds and gold, and know I painted every leaf for your eyes to behold. Yes winter’s one more time of year that sparkles ever new, for all is covered white and soft with snow as fresh as dew. So know my child the greatness of your God and all He’s done, to save you and to bless you in the person of His Son.

The grace of our Lord Jesus be with you all!

Inspiration Words Of Encouragement | Even The Angels Must Wait

1

Wait On The Lord
Daniel 10:12-13 – Then he said, “Don’t be afraid, Daniel. Since the first day you began to pray for understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your request has been heard in heaven. I have come in answer to your prayer…but for 21 days the spirit prince of the kingdom of Persia blocked my way.

EVEN THE ANGELS ARE HINDERED AND MUST WAIT AT TIMES.

Dear Friends – This scripture is such a beautiful reminder that when God seems to be delayed in coming to us in our time of need, or when we have done all we know to do and still no response, the seeming silence in the heavens could be due to the angels being hindered, held up in some way in bringing God’s answer to our hearts. We humble ourselves and pray for wisdom and understanding, but it’s easy to think we might have come to God in our time of great need and somehow asked amiss anyway. It’s easy to blame ourselves for a lack of patience perhaps, or maybe just a selfish request, when we gaze into the heavens and they seem cold and dark, enveloped in a strange silence our hearts can not even receive at first. At this point, one can bolt and run, or one can choose to stay with God knowing they’re in the best of hands, the safest place they could ever be, and realize that it is a journey to give God all the glory and share the testimony we receive in the end with a lost and hurting world.

Beloved, I have devoted myself to trusting God through it all. I have learned that delay is not always denial, and should it be denial it is always wonderfully good for us. It seems awkward now to say that a firm “no” from my God ends with praises on my lips thanking Him and giving Him the glory for His protection over me, His involvement in every aspect of my life. For the denials have taught me the difference between needs and wants. The denials have taught me that even the most sincere prayers can be selfish or looking for a quick fix out of a painful situation while looking at a failure head on. Ultimately in the silence, and through a dogged determination to seek God and His way no matter how much it hurt, I grew to love Him and depend on Him even more. I have learned to be patient in the delays knowing His way will always serve me best. And His way will also serve others best. For our dear Savior looks at our whole picture, those whose lives we have major influence over, and those whose lives we may not have even touched yet but soon will. He considers things I can’t even fathom, to the good will of all.

Yes, I have chosen to trust when it would be easier to skip the whole thing, just up and run the other way to escape the pressure and pain. But, I can’t find words to tell you how sweet it is to stay in the refiner’s fire until all the old dross, all the garbage and excess baggage we carry around with us, is burned away. We come out without even the smell of smoke, and we come out full of zest for life, full of passion to serve Him, and a love and compassion for the hurts and needs of others we might have otherwise never realized.

So fret not if the heavens seem silent to you at times. Don’t fall into worry and doubt if you’re waiting on God and He hasn’t showed up yet. Let the above scripture be an encouragement to you that your angels could be held up in the heavens as they are bringing God’s answer to you. And remember that God never leaves us or forsakes us. He is always only a prayer away. He hears the cries of our hearts but if we want to be a tree of life planted by those living waters we must submit our will and our way to His will and His way. Nothing else will keep us planted in Jesus but a blind faith and total trust in good times or bad.

This total commitment then becomes your resting place in the Lord. Total commitment takes the pressure off. We don’t have to be so concerned about every decision we make, every stumbling block or hurdle we may otherwise struggle with. Give your life to Christ this day and begin a rest for your souls. The joy of the Lord will be your strength and His joy is full and lasting. His Word says, “whosoever will, may come”. Such great love, full of mercy and grace, is  only found in Him. His yoke is easy and His burden is light. May He bless you with His presence this day as you begin to seek Him with all of your heart. And may I tell you that if you have been praying earnestly about a matter, if you have been struggling under a load of care seeking God’s answer, the answers will come, and when they do your circumstances will catch up with your faith. The dark night of the soul you’ve been going through was just a season and don’t let anyone talk you out of your blessing. God will be faithful to you.

In His Love,

Lynda Signature
