Melancholy Of Remorse

Micah 7:7-9 - Therefore I will look unto the Lord; I will wait for the God of my salvation: my God will hear me. 8 Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the Lord shall be a light unto me. 9 I will bear the indignation of the Lord, because I have sinned against him, until he plead my cause, and execute judgment for me: he will bring me forth to the light, and I shall behold his righteousness.

Dear Friend – If you are living with a contrite heart, a broken spirit because of failure, regret over the choices you’ve made or the paths you’ve been stuck in, it’s time to look up for your redemption draws nigh. So often we allow ourselves to wallow in self pity and self condemnation to such a degree we do not even recognize the Light when it is shining down on our situation. It is at these times that we must ask ourselves if the self degradation is accomplishing anything for the good? And the answer to that question is always an overwhelmingly absolute NO! God is so aware of our human frailties and weaknesses. He sent His Son to die while we were yet sinners. In our sinful condition and without hope He sent Jesus to save us and redeem us back to Himself. The sin debt is paid once and for all.

But it is this Love that we so often fail to comprehend when we make mistakes. Perhaps we ask ourselves just how could God love us when we can’t seem to get things right, making the same mistakes over and over, falling into the same traps again and again? But we are asking ourselves the wrong question. The question should be what will God do for me if I trust Him with these weaknesses? What will God do if I am committed fully to Him? Will He come to my aid when I cannot help myself? For God has already established that He loves us unconditionally. His mercy and grace toward us are without repentance. Yet it seems to easier to sit alone in darkness and beat ourselves up when we fall rather than humbly pray for forgiveness. Scripture says what the enemy means for evil, God will use for good. Be encouraged, beloved, for there is good even in our mistakes and shortcomings. We can’t fix it all but God can and we should allow Him to do so.

But if we are dwelling in darkness God will come and be a light to us if we are trusting in Him. We must not allow ourselves to be so contrite and full of remorse that we become unable to function, unable to move forward with our lives. To become morbid or angry with ourselves is not necessary by any standard and God in no way requires such.  For on this journey, others are watching us. Those around  us are learning of the Lord and His grace and forgiveness by our example. Will we show them God’s love and forgiveness, His total cleansing of whatever stain sin has left in our lives? There  is nothing we can do in our own strength that will in any wise save us or cleanse us from sin. But God is able to do exceeding abundantly above all we could ask or think  so rejoice, for it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of His good pleasure.  Arise, get  up and continue the spiritual journey with a joyful countenance and great expectations. Forget the things which are behind and reach forth unto those things which are before, press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 3:13-14).

How precious that God does not look at our situations the way we do. He is so aware of our needs, so aware of our times of spiritual depression and lack, but still He is longing to show Himself strong on our behalf. He longs to fellowship with us. It is not His desire to see any of His children in depression and despair. Just as we would do anything to help our own children if they were hurting in any way, so God shows us the same compassion. His ears are always attentive to our prayers and His arms are always outstretched. We call Him, Abba, Father, which in reality means Daddy.

The scripture above says when we fall we will arise. That’s right. Consider not the fiery trial which is to try you or the weakness in your resolve. But consider the Savior, His ultimate sacrifice, and the gift of the Spirit to comfort us in times of temptation and failure. Settle it in your mind that the sin debt has been paid and don’t look back.  Ask forgiveness and receive it then get right back up. We must not waste one moment of this precious gift of life that God has given us on guilt or shame. We must receive all the good that He offers. Scripture says in 2 Thessalonians 2:16-17 – Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace, 17 Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work. So there it is again, consolation, everlasting consolation, and good hope through grace. Let Him establish you in every good word and work. As the song says,” Arise, and go back to your Father’s house”, He is at the door waiting. Beautiful promises, beautiful gifts, ours for the taking!

Words Of Inspiration | In Times Like These

For Such A Time As This

Romans 8:14-18 – For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. 15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. 16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: 17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. 18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

Dearest Friends – For such a time as this you were created! Scripture says “For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now” (Romans 8:22). You may be groaning under the weight of your load. You may be faltering, stumbling, unsure of your footing in troubled times. But the sufferings of these times are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

You ask how can this be? How can our lives, that at times seem so dark and hopeless, be in reality a beacon of hope to a lost world? Because you are being led by the Spirit of God and you are the sons and daughters of God. You can shrink back in fear in troubled, chaotic times. You can run from life and hide your gifts and talents from the world rather than believe God to do a beautiful work in you and through you. But in all these things God’s word tells us we are MORE than conquerors through Him that loved us (Romans 8:37). We are in essence children of God, heirs of God and joint-heirs with Jesus if so be that HE is truly our Lord and Savior.

When we are overwhelmed by life the Spirit helps our infirmities. When we don’t know how to pray the Spirit makes intercession for us. God has provided a way where there might not seem to be a way in your life. If He spared not His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not then with Him freely give us all things? (Romans 8:31-32). Freely! His only requirement is that we believe Him; believe Him that He is able, believe Him that He will do what He said He would do. The Way is the only way in yesterday’s world, today’s world, and tomorrow’s world for He is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

If your heart is broken from hurts of the past He has you covered and will bring miraculously good things out of it if you will commit them to Him. If you are living in fear of today’s turmoil, today’s pain, today’s seeming harshness and helplessness, He is the God of your today. He will hold you and help you without fail and without condemnation. And if your thoughts constantly run to tomorrow and where you will be, what you will do, what of your loved ones, that too is covered. For the whole of creation rests in the palm of God’s hands and we as His beloved children are above all safe, saved, delivered and redeemed from our own destructions and downfalls.

Truly, beloved, there is nothing that can separate us from the love of Christ, nothing. Romans 8:38-39 says ”For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, 39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. These times may be troubling but NO THING and NOTHING can separate us from the love of God. God has called us into His family, and who He calls He also justifies, and those He justifies He also glorifies (Romans 8:30). It’s powerful beyond what man can reason in his finite mind. It takes simple faith and trust in Jesus to believe that no matter what kind of dire straits we may find ourselves in God is right there with us. Nothing is too difficult for our God. His arm is not shortened that it cannot help. His ears are open to our cries. And when we are without strength there is no greater time to let go of our efforts, our worries, and just experience a free-fall right into His loving arms, for scripture says in Deuteronomy 33:27 “The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms…”. What a beautiful expression of total Love and care for us. He’s our refuge, and if we fall, we fall right into His everlasting arms. Think of it. That thought of falling into the everlasting arms brings the phrase “Let Go and Let God” into virtual focus. Let go today precious ones, and let God show you a true and better way. He will not fail you and He will not leave you.

I heard a song long ago that goes something like “In times like these, we need a Savior. In times like these, we need an anchor. Be very sure, yes very sure, your anchor holds, and grips the solid rock”. Jesus is the Rock that is higher than we are. Jesus is the anchor of our souls. So may these words of encouragement touch your heart today and inspire you to be sure, be very sure, that for such a time as this you are trusting in the Anchor of life, the Love that is unconditional, and in so doing your Anchor WILL hold. For in times like these nothing material, nothing secular, nothing of this world and its goods shall be able in any wise to save you, it is in Christ alone that we are saved, in Christ alone.

The Lord bless thee, and keep thee: The Lord make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The Lord lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace. Numbers 6:24-26.

In His Love,

Words Of Inspiration | Keeping The Unity

One God | One Way

Ephesians 4:1-6 – I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith you are called, 2 With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love; 3 Endeavouring to keep the  unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. 4There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; 5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism, 6 One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.

Dear Friends - May these words of inspiration motivate you to take some positive action in your personal life, and encourage you in becoming mature in the Lord, learning how to live and walk in love, finding out what your individual gifts and callings are, and endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in whatever state you may be in. The 4th chapter of Ephesians is a particularly powerful and life-changing passage of scripture. It is a breath of fresh air to the soul seeking true wisdom and guidance in being not only the best they can be personally, to the glory of God, but allowing their lives to be used by God for the work of the ministry and to edify the body of Christ (Ephesians 4:12).  It is a perfect expression of the love walk we must strive to achieve in our every-day lives. For there is but one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is above all and is in every believer.

Thus, endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit is not unlike striving to keep the peace. It is a labor of love, a work of the heart, and an act of selflessness when self would rather be in control. So be encouraged to mind the things that make for peace.  Let us lift our brothers and sisters up with compassion. Let us put their needs before our own and allow the light of God to shine through us to show others the way. My friends, it is an honor to be able to see the needs of others and be willing to assist them. For after all, all that we have and all that we are is from God, and apart from Him we can do nothing (John 15:5). Once we have received a personal revelation of just how much God really loves us, and that His Son Jesus died and rose again to save us, it makes the benevolent spirit in us catch fire. Once it is settled in our hearts and we understand our individual gifts and callings, then having a spirit of servanthood is both praiseworthy and richly rewarding. And where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is peace.

Selfless service to others is not common today. It is not the norm to give and do for others without expecting something in return, until and unless you consider the sacrifice Jesus made for us, the ultimate sacrifice. He died that we might have life and have it more abundantly. Scripture says in Isaiah 53:5 - But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and by his stripes we are healed. What a Savior and what a sacrifice!

So no matter what you may be facing today, my friends, God loves you and longs to fellowship with you. His word says if you abide in Him, He will abide in you.  As you open up to Him and receive that Love, open your hearts to others and let the blessings begin to flow through you. Reach for the things that make for peace, forgiving others as Christ has forgiven us, speaking words of love and kindness in difficult situations for scripture says a soft word turns away wrath. Again, dear friends, endeavour to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace, and the grace of our Lord be with you all.

God Bless,

Words Of Inspiration/Let Your Light Shine

2

Walk As Children Of Light

Matthew 5:14-16 -Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see  your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Dearest Friends – Today I write to ask you - is your light shining before men? Do you have Jesus in your heart and God’s word in your mouth? Our light is the very essence of our lives, the gifts, talents, love, all that makes us who we are and how we relate that to others. We might think our sphere of influence is too small to be concerned about making a difference in someone else’s life. We may feel that our lives surely couldn’t change much in God’s great big beautiful plan for mankind. But let me assure you, your life can change things significantly no matter where you are. If Jesus is in your heart then your light is just waiting to shine to a world in need of light and life. Your light could shine in the darkness of the world of those around you, and a light in the darkness is always a symbol of hope. One little flicker is all it takes to give that hope to someone in need. And though your light may seem small to you, little is much when God is in it.

God’s word says in Psalms 18:28: For thou wilt light my candle: the Lord my God will enlighten my darkness. God so longs to light up our world. God so longs to show us His love in numerous and unexpected ways. This love is the purest form of light. And it is this love that needs to be shared. The more of God’s love we allow in our lives the brighter our light shines. Thus, more people are drawn to this light and to the sweet aroma of Jesus permeating every aspect of our being. It is a contagious thing – God’s love is such a powerful force that it touches the lives of others as they simply look at us and observe the Holy Spirit’s anointing in our lives. God has enlightened your darkness – reach out today and be a beacon for someone else.

Beloved these words of inspiration are to encourage you to take what God has given you and let it shine.  Whether you feel it is a mere candle in an otherwise darkened room or a lighthouse in a raging storm, let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify our Father which is in heaven.

Scripture says in John 8:12: Then Jesus spake again unto them saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

In His Love And God Bless Each Of You!
